There are stupid things that rich people buy, but this seems pretty cool, actually.

Not much else to say, really. This is ludicrously awesome.

I like the enthusiasm.

I occasionally wonder how many climbers are on Fark...

Yeah it looks cool now, but imagine it in a week or two--covered in chalkdust, dried sweat, and gobies.

Of course if you can afford this thing, I suppose you can afford somebody to clean it up every cpupla days.

I started about 8-9 months ago. I haven't gone outdoors but I'm progressing fairly well.

I just got back from a long weekend in Red Rock. Took Dark Shadows to the summit.
On belay!

1) You can change the routes, but the variety looks extremely finite.
2) It's just flat and vertical? Are you serious? Hey, I'll call my grandmother, she's been looking for somewhere to climb.
3) Mmmm, chalk stains.

God, will Outside ever update their logo? Looks the same to me as the one I remember form their magazine in the 80s.

Also, I live in a commercial building with a huge climbing place in one of the other units, never tried it out yet.

I miss climbing a whole lot. When I finally build my house, I'm putting a wall in it. I have to admit, the one in TFA is gorgeous, but the variability and difficulty looks rather... easy.
Either way, neat idea, just wish it had a way to make it negative incline.

How do you even climb a dirtbag?

I climb. It's been off and on for a long time, but I am very serial about it now.

Any climbers in STL area?

I just started climbing this year. Took a gym class for it for easy credit at school. I absolutely love it. For the first few weeks I had to have my roommates open jars for me after climbing because my hands were absolutely dead.

/dont overgrip as much now
//needs to find someone to belay with

Okay: you got me, and the googles are not helping. What are "gobies" in this context? I'm assuming you don't mean the little stripy aquarium fish.

... I was kind of prepared for phlegm or something, but not that. [ooky face.] Guess it makes a certain sense, though.
