ongbok: But the FBI's voice experts are and reportedly they came to the same conclusion that it wasn't Zimmerman's, which is what led to his arrest and charges.

You mean the same FBI experts that lead investigator Gilbreath said "lent no additional insight into the voice" while under oath at Zimmerman's bond hearing?

I'm sure that Corey won't be relying on them to say that the voice on the 911 call is definitely Martin's.

Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: BR549: How the FARK was a PICTURE of a can of Arizona Watermelon flavored juice cocktail even remotely considered "hate speech"? I see people bad mouthing Christians all the time in here and never getting their posts pulled.........C'mon Drew, let's be equal here.

When I saw that picture my immediate response was a desire to go murder a minority, so it was pretty obviously hate speech.

Mine was actually the sad trombone noise. It's like when someone says to you "God created Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve" and then they lean back with that really proud look on their face like they just unleashed a huge zinger, but you've heard that 10,000 times so it's not even mildly amusing it's just like "Why are you wasting my time with this predictability? You're a hack."

All of these feelings can be expressed with a sad trombone because we all feel lose when the unfunny fail at being funny. Everyone loses when a bad joke is told. Both the teller and the audience.

Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: You're dealing with two people who hold these two thoughts inclusively:
Martin is justified in attacking an unknown person for following him
Zimmermang is not justified in following an unknown person who fits the description of recent burglars for the purpose of reporting his location to the police

So, on their minds, if you attack someone who you think is suspicious, that's fine, but if you follow someone who you think is suspicious, you're a racist maniac.

Nothing like a good strawman right?

1.) I feel that Martin is justified in Defending himself. We know for a fact that Zimmerman was following him, and that Martin noticed that Zimmerman was following him. We also know that Zimmerman then attempted to follow martin on foot. and to cap it off we know that zimmerman had a gun the entire time. We don't know when Martin realized Zimmerman had a gun though.

2.) I believe that Zimmerman was justified in reporting Martin's location to police . I don't believe that Zimmerman is a racist, but I do feel he sterotyped Martin based on the recent robbery issues in the neighborhood.

I do NOT believe that it's justified to then follow Martin on foot after being told not to... I understand that doesn't really matter in a legal sense. I also believe that Zimmermans actions were reckless and if he were not reckless that Trevon Martin would be alive today. Even without knowing if Martin did or didn't defend himself, I don't feel the "stand your ground" law was created or worded (after reading it) to protect Zimmermans actions and because of that he should be prosecuted.

Going to be interesting when this case is tried in a court of law instead of the court of public opinion. I think a lot of stuff is going to come out that wasn't on the news, but very relevant to the events leading to the shooting...

Actually, there are a lot of facts that have already been established about that night. Such as the fact that Zimmerman followed this kid after being told not to. Honestly, you could have a video of the event going down and Zimmerman supporters would crow that it's not supported by facts.

The attempt to paint Zimmerman as a racist continues (Obama's gotta win Florida y'know).

Spanish television network Univision who from the beginning has identified Zimmermann as a "hombre blanco con origenes Hispanos (white man with Hispanic origins)" ran a report a couple of days ago that Zimmerman hates Mexicans based on some ancient MySpace postings (Times-Herald piece).

This guy is toast unless he gets some Cubans in his jury.

Worksucks370: Question Which facts am I assuming? Honestly asking.

Off the top of my head, your statement of what happened reflects the following assumptions based on nothing but political propaganda:

- That Zimmerman continued following Martin after the police dispatcher said, "We don't need you to do that." (The body was discovered a few feet from the spot where the timing of the recorded phone call indicates Zimmerman was standing.)

- That Martin did not either lie in wait while Zimmerman completed his phone call to police.

- That Martin did not return to confront Zimmerman, after running down the foot path and toward his father's girlfriend's house.

- That Martin did not make the first aggressive physical contact, or threat of physical contact, with Zimmerman.

- That Martin actually believed he was in an imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm from Zimmerman.

- If Martin's had that belief, that it was reasonable.

I'm sure there are a few more assumptions you are making, that are either contradicted by the evidence, or just baseless.

No one said he pulled Zimmerman out of his car.

But, yes, the evidence shows that Martin kicked Zimmerman's ass unprovoked.

You aren't allowed to "swing" on a guy because he's following you from 30 feet away, reporting your location to the police.

Besides, the girlfriend's statement, while interesting, came out weeks later, after extensive meetings with the Martin family attorney. That reduces her credibility. Skeptical skeptics should be skeptical.

Phinn: Worksucks370: Question Which facts am I assuming? Honestly asking.

Off the top of my head, your statement of what happened reflects the following assumptions based on nothing but political propaganda:

- That Zimmerman continued following Martin after the police dispatcher said, "We don't need you to do that." (The body was discovered a few feet from the spot where the timing of the recorded phone call indicates Zimmerman was standing.)

"

You're completely right. I knew that he initially followed him on foot, and was lead to believe he continued after being told not to. It appears I was without question wrong on that count and we don't know if he continued or not.

"- That Martin did not either lie in wait while Zimmerman completed his phone call to police."

Is that a fact? Again, honestly asking... I believe that Martin's location between Zimmerman losing him and them meeting face to face again is more or less unknown.

"- That Martin did not return to confront Zimmerman, after running down the foot path and toward his father's girlfriend's house. "

I do know that is Zimmerman's side of the story. And based on the location of the body it's pretty likely that he did return to Zimmerman.

"- That Martin did not make the first aggressive physical contact, or threat of physical contact, with Zimmerman." "

That's actually not an assumption of mine. I know that Zimmerman has reported that martin struck him first, but other than that I have no idea who attacked who first. I haven't nor am I making the claim that Martin didn't strike first.

"- That Martin actually believed he was in an imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm from Zimmerman. "

Nor have I said he did. I simply painted a picture showing how one could believe that based on the circumstances

I love how all these racist ignorant bastards totally ignore every single fact that has come out so far in this case.

Trayvon was a dope-dealing gang-banging thieving thug who brutally attacked someone who was doing what the police and neighbors begged him to do.

Zimmerman didn't stalk him thru the neighborhood. He saw him walking while he was driving home. He lost sight of him after about 1 minute. He got out of his truck, walked around a building and couldn't see him so he returned to his truck.. which took about another 30 seconds.

This is where he was attacked by a no good future criminal thug ass gang banger.

If you can't read a story in the paper, and look at police reports, and study a map to get the real story....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't make your self look like an uneducated racist dick by claiming you know exactly what happened.

Fact is.. YOU are a racist asshole. We get it. YOU hate whitey. You will use any and all excuses to try to vilify whitey to satisfy your own shortcomings.

Clean up your own backyard you farking racist farktard.

Real people are getting really tired of you ignorant racist assholes throwing the race card around in the wrong direction. You should be looking DIRECTLY at yourselves.

jso2897: So actually, the only piece of "news" we have to discuss here is the shocking discovery that lawyers are highly unlikely to shut down a revenue stream?
Well, I'll be jiggered! Who'd of thunk it?

Yep...but gosh, you should hear the spin from the "Justice For Trayvon" supporters when Trayvon's family went and Trademarked Trayvon's name.....they couldn't wait until the kid was embalmed before his folks discovered he was a Moneymaker...but it was OK for the Trayvon family to go make some money off the kid

You mean how they trademarked his name so that people wouldn't be able to make a fast buck off it , or make money off of it by disrespecting him? By the way how much has his parents made off of trademarking his name?

They didn't have to Trademark his name to keep people from making money off of him. With Trayvon being a minor, anyone trying to use his name to make a buck...the parents could have sued...and won easily. No court would allow anyone to use a deceased minor's likeness without parental permission

They trademarked his name to MAKE MONEY. You think Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Black Panthers...work for free?

master_dman: I love how all these racist ignorant bastards totally ignore every single fact that has come out so far in this case.

Yup, there are so many people in this thread trying to twist the story to fit their agenda. Liberals crying about racism again (there's a shocker). Gun advocates talking about the rights to defend yourself. People against the Florida law that lets you stand your ground.

Me, I'm just pissed the media still calls this guy white just to enrage people. That mofo at half Mexican is darker than most full Mexicans I know.

And we all know "Mexican kills black" doesn't sell newspapers
