I would like to see the WHOLE interview. Anyone who has followed Ted for any amount of time knows he only lets you have it with both barrels when he is provoked. He doesn't hide what his beliefs are, but he's almost always pretty calm while telling you about them, a lot of times adding a bit of humor along the way- unless you keep fakring with him about it. "We have NO IDEA where that unexpected outburst came from"; Guy on left-"Why did he go off like that?' Interviewer- "Good question"... Seriously??? You can bet your ass there was a first class lib-media edit job done to make it look like Ted snapped at an innocent interviewer for no reason. I'm sure they edited out where the interviewer kept pushing Ted's buttons until he got the response he wanted, then we only get to see the response, so they can try to make Ted look bad. And then you LIBs eat it up! And you all get to line up and cry in unison...See, everyone on the Right is just like this! And it worked, because all you Ted haters are fired up again, and CBS can say "Mission Accomplished" and pat themselves on the back again. Just like NBC did with the Zimmerman 911 call- until they got caught and their edit job got exposed.

And rufus-t-firefly...quoting a "High Times" article? Yeah, because they definitely are the upper echelon of journalism excellence. Surprised that particular piece of hack "journalism" is still getting circulated after all these years. I guess Ted has had the last laugh on that one for a long time- fakr with all the stoner's minds and watch them take the bait, hook line and sinker.

I can't decide which is funnier:

"I'm an extremely loving, passionate man, and people who investigate me honestly, without the baggage of political correctness, ascertain the conclusion that I'm a damned nice guy. ... And if you can find a screening process more powerful than that, I'll [expletive]. Or [expletive]. How's that sound?"

-or-

"These military guys are my blood brothers."

Right, because moderates usually rile up crowds by suggesting that candidates from the opposing party suck on their machine guns.

iron_city_ap: Moderates are liberal in some areas and conservative in others. What is something you feel you have a liberal or slightly liberal stance on Mr. Nugent....

He believes that the white man should be able to liberally pepper conversations about blacks with the "N" word, without having to deal with the crying of the PC police.

"Obama, he's a piece of sh-t, and I told him to suck on my machine gun ... Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless b-t ... Any questions? Freeeeeeeeeeeedom!!!!!"

I don't really get the whole Confederate Flag/Southern pride thing in general, but I can't think of a reason why someone from Michigan would wear it if not solely to "stick it to the darkies".

He was just paraphrasing his political hero Nelson Rockefeller. Clearly he's just been taken out of context.

First: I don't think Teddy understands the word moderate. Just because he gives to charity, it doesn't make him a moderate. Also, he can't describe himself as an extremist moderate without a head somewhere in the universe imploding.

Secondly, what a douche. Why is he attacking a rather accommodating reporter and some poor chick standing on the sidelines? The reporter was interviewing him rather fairly, no 'gotcha; questions, and not calling him out on his idiocy.

Also, WTF is up with this "poor me" thing? EVERYONE knows that when you make a public threat on the President's life, no matter who is in office, the Secret Service is going to come a-knockin' on your door. He just needs to accept responsibility for his actions. I mean good Lord, he CLAIMS to be a Republican, aren't they all about this whole 'personal responsibility' thing? It's not a "PC Culture" that caused the Service to come knocking on your door, it's the shiat that falls out from between your lips when you open your mouth. If you have a problem with that, then stop talking.

And the Army are his "brothers in arms"? If I was in the military, I'd kick him in the nuts. He's too chicken shiat to fight in Vietnam, but now that he's safe from any draft, he's suddenly all gung ho about the armed services? What a douche. Then again, the Right seems to be really keen on war, just as long as they themselves don't have to fight, I guess he's just fitting in.

I used to like his music, now I can't hear it without thinking how much of a douche he has become. I wonder why he didn't think it was a "PC" attack when the Dixie Chicks got blasted for merely stating that they were embarrassed that Bush was from Texas, too, yet Nugent claims that it's because of 'this current atmosphere'. He must be getting senile to forget so farking easily.

rufus-t-firefly: Ted Nugent- - Brave Patriot

"High Times: How did you get out of the draft?

Ted Nugent: Ted was a young boy, appearing to be a hippie but quite opposite in fact, working hard and playing hard, playing rock and roll like a deviant. People would question my sanity, I played so much. So I got my notice to be in the draft. Do you think I was gonna lay down my guitar and go play army? Give me a break! I was busy doin' it to it. I had a career Jack. If I was walkin' around, hippying down, getting' loaded and pickin' my ass like your common curs, I'd say "Hey yeah, go in the army. Beats the poop out of scuffin' around in the gutters." But I wasn't a gutter dog. I was a hard workin', motherf***n' rock and roll musician.

I got my physical notice 30 days prior to. Well, on that day I ceased cleansing my body. No more brushing my teeth, no more washing my hair, no baths, no soap, no water. Thirty days of debris build. I stopped shavin' and I was 18, had a little scraggly beard, really looked like a hippie. I had long hair, and it started gettin' kinky, matted up. Then two weeks before, I stopped eating any food with nutritional value. I just had chips, Pepsi, beer-stuff I never touched-buttered poop, little jars of Polish sausages, and I'd drink the syrup, I was this side of death, Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. poop, pi** the whole shot. My pants got crusted up.

See, I approached the whole thing like, Ted Nugent, cool hard-workin' dude, is gonna wreak havoc on these imbeciles in the armed forces. I'm gonna play their own game, and I'm gonna destroy 'em. Now my whole body is crusted in poop and pi**. I was ill. And three or four days before, I started stayin' awake. I was close to death, but I was in control. I was extremely antidrug as I've always been, but I snorted some crystal methedrine. Talk about one wounded motherf****r. A guy put up four lines, and it was for all four of us, but I didn't know and I'm vacuuming that poop r ...

So, he's a moderate Libertarian then.

I think the only people who really care or are affected by his nutty views are people that already are there with him. If anything that interview this morning just made him look like more of a nutcase than he already was perceived as.

Concert sounded better once I put earplugs in. Bad sound, or maybe I'm just getting old.

Funny how entertainers like Springsteen can do the exact same thing, and lib's have no problem with it, since he is on the "correct side of the fence", and is being a patriotic American.

And in the mail I got this big juicy 4-F. They'd call dead people before they'd call my ass. But you know the funny thing about it? I'd make an incredible army man. I'd be a colonel before you knew what hit you, and I'd have the baddest bunch of motherf****n' killers you'd ever seen in my platoon. But I just wasn't into it. I was too busy doin' my own thing, you know."

And NOW he says that he's "shown his courage" by going on a farking USO tour... Yeah, because we all know how the performers on the USO tours have to do a full tour of active duty first, right? What a timid little pussy.

He never challenged the magazine - he admits that he gave them those quotes. I just take him at his word.

Are you calling Ted Nugent a liar?

Oh, wait - he called himself a liar. He says he lied to High Times. Okay, fine.

What about what he told the Independent?

"In 1977 you gave an interview to High Times [the cannabis user's journal of record] where you claimed you defecated in your clothes to avoid the draft."

"I never shiat my pants to get out of the draft," says Nugent, good-naturedly.

"You also told them you took crystal meth before the medical; as a result of which, and I quote: 'I got this big juicy 4F.'"

"Unbelievable. Meth," he replies, in a tone of deep sarcasm. "Yes, that's my drug of choice. You've got to realise that these interviewers would arrive with glazed eyes and I would make stories up. I never did crystal meth. And I never pooped my pants."

"But you did dodge the draft."

"I had a 1Y [student deferment]. I enrolled at Oakland Community College."

"You said then that you wanted 'to teach the stupid bastards in the military a lesson'. I'd have thought you'd have loved the army. Guns. Travel. Danger."

"Back then, I didn't even understand what World War II was."

"So basically, you didn't want to get your Michigan ass blown off in Vietnam."

"Correct. I did not want to get my ass blown off in Vietnam."

He was a pussy who intentionally got out of the draft. I wouldn't have a problem with that...if he didn't pretend to be such a badass.

Here's his draft record:

Link

He was 1-A (eligible), then 1-Y (student deferment), but once they got rid of the student deferments...he was magically 4-F.

So he DID fail his physical, just like he told High Times. But he pretends that he only had a student deferment when he talks to the Independent. Why hasn't he gotten around to telling the REAL story? Could it be that the real story and his "lies" are actually identical?

All he has to do is tell the truth...then again, maybe he already has.

Whether he was a lying sack of shiat when he gave the interview or he is now, some things are undisputed:

1. He DID give that interview, and that IS what he said, completely in context.

2. He DID do everything he could to avoid Vietnam.

3. He WAS classified 4-F, for "undisclosed" medical reasons. He also got the school deferment, but he did fail in some way when it came time for the physical.

Nugent was too pussy to go fight in Vietnam, but he's not too pussy to cheer on our government sending people to die in war. He thinks it was an act of "courage" to do a USO tour in Afghanistan, and he has never been a member of any branch of the armed forces, yet has the gall to call them his "brothers in arms". He also seems to think that the Secret Service didn't investigate threats against the President before Obama was elected.

It takes a true moron to CONTINUE to defend this sack of shiat, and I would like to congratulate you on picking up the "true moron" tag and running with it, we're all quite impressed with the mental gymnastics that you are currently performing.

"These military guys are my blood brothers," Nugent said. Except when I could have served I didn't was cut off from his answer.

And
He also called Glor Thursday and said that, after the interview, he was rushed to the emergency room and had a kidney stone removed Personal responsibility what is that.

Finally, he does charity work with kids is that wise
He lambastes drug users and alcohol drinkers, but repeatedly admits (without a trace of humility, however) to being a serial pedophile. Two relationships (one with his wife and one with "muse" Pele Massa, who was 17 when they started dating) were ended due to Ted's infidelity while on the road, often with underage women. But Ted justifies his behavior with one of his trademark funny expressions: "alternative flesh management." from here Link

This will all be explained in a few minutes by 3StratMan, I'm sure the sun was in Uncle Teddy's eye or something when he gave that interview for High Times, and maybe all of these underage girls were just telling their age by the Julian Calendar or something? Like I said, 3StratMan will clear all of this up for us. Not by holding Ted accountable for his actions, of course, because Socialism, but by deflecting, which any good Rightie will tell you is the best way to accept personal responsibility for anything.

Ted has always been a businessman. I'm willing to think that even he doesn't believe the garbage he spews.
But, he knows that it'll get him on air and someone will pay for his next performance or album.

He knows his audience well enough. I'll admit that I'm not one of them. Though he had one of the purtiest PRS' in the 89-90 catalog. I drooled over that thing for years.

Nugent then turned to Glor's female producer and said, "Or I'll f**k you, how's that sound?"

Does anyone else remember when they did the Spinal Tap reunion thing about '94 or '95? That's all this is. Ted is just turning the 'Moderate' up to 11. We'll see Michael McKean or Christopher Guest come on stage the next time Terrible Teddy is spewing, and it will all make sense... Since it's Ted though, he doesn't do ANYTHING half-assed, so he's decided to turn up the Derp along with it. That's going to 12, from what I hear...

You people just don't get it. I was not defending Ted- go back and read my original post. I was stating that once again, the trusty media has put out a story with the intent of getting people like you riled up over someone you all like to claim is irrelevant to you. They pick and choose what parts of the interview they want to show you, only leaving in the parts they know will get the hair on the back of all of your necks standing on end (a la the Zimmerman NBC 911 recording), conveniently leaving out the parts that might show the interviewer being just as much of an A-hole to achieve the desired result. All of a sudden- BLAM!- you are all huddled together and writing post after post of hateful comments about someone you all claim you couldn't care less about. The joke is on you, since once again you all fell for it, gobbling it up hook line and sinker. Mission accomplished, CBS. Dan Rather is probably doing a happy dance right now.
