How much of what, according to the article, did the boy actually say? I suspect there's a certain amount of the boy having to say what will make his parents/other authorities happy. When he's talking to the parents/police it's something like "I didn't want to, and then she touched me, and and..." amid sniffles and barely held-back tears. When he was talking to the the girl it's more like "sex? gimme gimme gimme."

How much coaching/direction did he get? Officer: "When she touched you, you didn't want her to, did you?" (while shaking head). Parent: "She took advantage of you, didn't she dear?" (while nodding head).

How much of a filter is the article passing through? Did the author of the article talk to the boy himself or to a parent/police who (either through self-delusion or being required to play a particular angle) gave a skewed story?

Parents/police: Angry!

I'm not suggesting that this is what happened in this particular case and I'm not mitigating her choice to fool around with a minor, but I frequently get the impression that we're being fed a standard-format, pre-cut story. The public doesn't like it when the characters don't play their standard roles.
