Raging Thespian, that sounds like a compliment.
Also note I got Livingroom's Fark ID mostly right; capitalizing is so often optional,
except when seeking case-sensitive mtrl.
He, & it is a quite young he, depictured above is Wakko, one of Furrnandina

My crappy few weeks have gotten crappyer. My computer is now toast so my nephew (the IT guy) will see what he can do to get it back to functional but I won't have it back for at least a week. I am visiting my Library daily to check emails and get a few things done.

On my way to the Library this morning I had the radio on and they played two songs in a row that were Caturday Community videos (remember those?) here is the link to the one we did to "The Joker" Link but "Life's Benn Good To Me" is no longer on YouTube. Anyone have it?

Hi guys. Just popping in to summon the power of caturday.

Long story short, Wolf had to go to the hospital this morning due to urinary blockage.
I caught him peeing on the wood floor in the spare room this morning before work. I yelled at him (which I feel horrible for now) and he ran off leaving a small puddle of pee. Mentioned it to my wife and she said she saw him doing the same thing in the kitchen. I left for work and the wife called the vet to make an appointment. The vet told her to take him into the hospital so she took him down before she had to go to work.

All I know at this point is he'll be there 2-3 days minimum. I guess the standard treatment is 24 hours with a catheter, then another 24 hours to make sure he's peeing on his own. That's the best case scenario. If it's due to crystals they should flush out with the catheter, however it could be stones or something else. That's all the info I have right now.

The wife gets off work at 8:00 and we're going to the hospital at 8:30 to visit. I'm hoping they call with some news before then.

It was sheer coincidence that I posted this last night...Viscous cat is entirely too viscous.

Mayhap you are correct, but IMHO, any cat (much less two of them) with untrimmed claws could inflict massive damage on any predator that is really not that much bigger than they are.

Interesting that you posted this today (I downloaded the magazine). A co-worker of mine approached me today to see if we would be interesting in adopting one of her kitties. She got a sweet little girl kitty a couple of years ago, several years after her almost 20 year old kitty passed away. A little over a year ago a 3 or 4 month old feral kitty starting hanging around her house and the cats would "play" thru the front door side lights. She fed the cat and found him tame and eventually took him to the Vet and when no one in the neighborhood claimed him, she adopted him. He's a beautiful cat -- black with a very interesting coat and head shape -- we think he is at least part Egyptian Mau. Long story short, he has become a big bully and is very aggressive to the girl kitty. It's gotten to the point where he won't let Nala use the litter box (not sure how many she has), won't let her play with any one in the family -- he wants all the attention. The girl kitty is a small, sweet little cuddler kitty, and is just miserable.

We just aren't ready for a new cat yet, and when we are ready, we want more than one, so I'm not sure we would be able to add another cat later on if we did take him in.

Any suggestions on how my friend can rehabilitate the bully?

I have this problem with a couple of mine. They got along well for a while, then all of a sudden one started picking on the other. The biggest culprit I found was there was a tom that was marking my patio so they drove the one male nuts and he started picking on another of the males (which is really weird because the one being bullied is bigger than the bully and could knock him on his butt if he wanted to). Even though I cleaned the smell and there's been no marking since, he sees some of my neighbors cats outside and it sets him off again. They're both on prozac currently, haven't been on it long enough to see a big difference yet but starting to see little improvements.

Might want to check and see if there is something setting off the male at the place. Since he can't get to whatever's making him mad outside, he could be taking it out on the little girl.

yellowcat, if you were able to download the Tufts mag then you have the article. I'm no feline psychologist, even tho I did take Psych II as an undergrad a lifetime ago. Sounds to me as if the Mau is jealous of Nala. Whether that's bcs she was there first or not, I really don't know, & of course it isn't fair! Sounds to me as if one needs a new domicile, at least for a while. If the Mau is the one to move, he could become even worse. It might be easier/kinder for Nala to move, depending how attached she is to her people. There may not be a truly good answer for this pickle.
