Salt Lake City cops...suspect that the stuffed tampons were part of a drug smuggling scheme that somehow went off the rails.

Gee. D'ya think? Either that or Tampax has a new "numbs out your cramps" line coming out.

/bitter that nothing I ever buy is ever unexpectedly filled with cocaine

mikdeetx: Cocaine and Kotex...the real thingys

Good thing she didn't shove them up her twat. Can you imagine your old lady tripping balls on her period and being a sudden raging coke whore?

I've read about the flush-able applications of the cocoa plant as an anthropology major and I can tell you that my research has shown the ancient Mexican cultures had respect for women suffering from the monthly blues. Not to be outdone by the Apache occurrences of how to handle the "ginger cousin" who appears twice yearly on the pow-wow scale, a parallel to the twice- yearly Catholic, who shows up in church for Christmas and Easter, there is a historical timeline that shows the Mayans, the Toltecs, the Aztecs, and yes, even the bloody Kotecs, had a history of engaging in human engineering and storytelling regarding the biological clocks of their womenfolk.

So... Someone was going to smuggle cocaine into the UK but the product wound up at someplace below a dollar store...

I do think this NPS place might be interesting and I'd like to know if there's similar in Dallas.

It's not "below" a Dollar Store, they(Dollar Stores) sell cheap, crappy garbage, I've had friends who bought good stuff cheap at the NPS Store(I'd forgotten about it). It's just normal products that were damaged during shipping, since Salt Lake is a major shipping hub for the region. One of my buddies bought something like an iPod dock years ago that should have cost $100 for like $20. The box was damaged, but the dock was perfect. Now I've got to remember to go to this place. Obviously I don't use tampons, but maybe I could start buying them for the street value... :-)

Uhm, it probably made a more interesting post 'cause she found cocaine in the tampons. Just throwing that out there.

NPS sometimes has awesome stuff. I bought a $1400 Hugo Boss jacket there for something like $500. Wife got $350 Stuart Weitzman shoes for $35.

They sometimes have crappy stuff too, though. They had some of those Disney collectible porcelain figures that they were trying to sell for a few hundred bucks, with a sign saying "retail price $2000..." despite the fact that they were broken into a million pieces.

Good or bad, though, they pretty much always have interesting stuff. And that's just the "Market Square" store. Across the street is their industrial store... :)

2012-05-04 01:57:39 AM
Understand, NPS is chiefly a freight salvage dealer, who also buys close-outs.

Basically, if it can lose a shipping label, get damaged by a fork lift, or just not sell fast enough, NPS can sell it to you eventually, or they already sold it to someone else.

Anything. They have an industrial and furniture store and they have an everything but industrial and furniture store. Everything from unpopular flavors of potato chips to great slabs of plate glass to missing florida state medical records (by the pallet!) to welding equipment to tampons.

In this case, it turned out to be cocaine.

So the question for NPS to answer is whether this came from freight salvage or from closeout. And then whether it was from a pallet of all the same product, or from a box with just a few things in it.

But the plain truth is that they probably will have a hard time figuring it out.

Also, their ebay store is insane, and will give you some idea of the variety they go through.

Partial list of things i have bought from NPS:

Processor heatsinks.
CAT-6 patch cables
Ben & Jerry's ice cream
A very nice mechanical Seiko dive watch
Cookies and candies from eastern europe
heat-and-serve noodles in peanut sauce
A $65 roll of kester rosin-core solder for $4
A big slab of 5/8" thick plate glass
Dry pasta
Kershaw knives
A watch winder (For my seiko!)
A bag of mesquite wood chunks
Egg-nog flavored ice cream sandwiches (available 365 days a year, for years running)

I could go on and on . . .
