I think most people knew Paulites were annoying enough to pull stuff like this, even though Ron Paul will never, ever be President, or even the Republican nominee. And anyone that's been paying attention through the primaries has heard Paul or his organizers say ominous things like, "we know how the delegates system REALLY works".

So yes, this is predictable, but doesn't make it any less hilariously pathetic.

The Republican primary system is hilariously broken. Possibly the Dems too, but there's nobody like Paul for the Dems, so it isn't a problem. These are people who intentionally refuse to play by the rules and abide by popular vote. The GOP primaries are getting an overhaul after this. I wouldn't be surprised to see all primaries and every one of them winner take all by default. The GOP almost always picks the establishment leader going into the primaries, so solidifying that makes sense for them.

This is how the Christian Coalition did it.

A vast minority WHO BOTHERS TO SHOW UP FOR THE CAUCUSES can take over delegate positions for conventions.

Delegates become committee members. Committees bring changes to party rules (including how they spend money, who they can and can't support, important stuff) and platforms (their philosophical positions).

They elect officers. Only the people who show up get to do this. And NOBODY shows up.

This is how the parties became so divided in the late 70s and into the 80s, and its the foundation for the divide to this day.

This is bullshiat. The Republican party will have dealt with Ron Paul long before the convention. He'll probably even have a speech in Tampa praising Mitt Romney.

Even if they didn't, his people most likely would still fail in getting any power whatsoever at the convention. No matter how clever they are and how much they study the rules, the fact remains that there are only a couple of states in which you can rack up delegates without having people vote for you. And no one farking votes for Ron Paul

Committee work is brutal because it's never in the press. They will be wrenches in the gears.

They're not in enough numbers nationwide, like the Christian Coalition did it (they secretly organized it nationwide to show up, instead of as an apparent afterthought like RPs folks), so they won't get anything passed, but I'd bet they're willing to make everyone's lives hell trying to get the committee work done.

Watching the Republican debates, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum were the only candidates who seemed sincere and believed what they stood for.

It refreshing to have a candidate where you disagree with what they stand for, but at least they are intellectually honest.
