Not a good start, Knicks!

Time to end the frustration and discombobulation! No more stumbling and bumbling! Knicks with the knack- time to get back on track!

"We're really just a couple of bounces from being 2-0". Dirk Nowitzki

For some reason that made me laugh.

I would like to point out the disparity of game quality. That is all.

2012-05-03 06:26:12 PM
I heard some hilarious stats yesterday.

The Knicks have lost 12 straight playoff games and are tied for the all-time mark for consecutive playoff losses(Grizzlies).

Carmelo Anthony has lost 11 straight playoff games going back to the Nugget years and is tied for the all-time mark for consecutive playoff losses by a player.

So, just for the lulz, let's go Heat!

TheShavingofOccam123: I would like to point out the disparity of game quality. That is all.

Seriously. I was hoping the NBA had a mercy rule for a series after watching some of Spurs-Jazz.

And, the Knicks needed Shumpert and Chandler to slow down the Heat to have a chance. That and a point guard. The ghosts of Baron Davis and Mike Bibby don't count. I'm still hoping they steal one or two.

Ham Sandvich: And, the Knicks needed Shumpert and Chandler to slow down the Heat to have a chance.

Shumpert's going to have a hard time doing that from the bench. Injured himself in Game 1.

Things not looking good for the Mavs, but that's what happens when you let go half your championship winning team from free agency. And to get a douche like Lamar Odom who NOW decides he cares about the game after being suspended by the Mavs.

This isn't a real season anyway. It's a pretend season.

I really like the Mavs Zombie Sonics series. I hope it goes to seven.

I said last year that OKC would start to give us perpetual fits come playoff time after we beat them. Out with the old, in with the new.

Devo: I really like the Mavs Zombie Sonics series. I hope it goes to seven.

The Mavs looked pretty dismal down the stretch. I didn't really expect the Zombies to be squeaking out wins at home. I'm sure it must be due to the sheer amount of curses that were placed on the franchise after their untimely exit from Seattle.

Now Carmelo and LeBron are wearing stitched together headbands?

How lame

That's what headbands look like when you turn them inside out.

2012-05-03 07:08:37 PM
Bullshiat that is one headband turned inside out. LeBron has been wearing two headbands for much of this season. Now Melo is doing it.

That's not one headband.

Yeah, they don't make different thicknesses of headbands or anything.

BTW, holy sh*t at the sheer number of sports greenlights today!

And Tyson Chandler celebrates his DPOY award by blocking a shot so soft he probably could have caught in the air into the 20th row.

If it is a different width headband, why is there a giant seam in the middle?

They are flipped inside out so you don't see the two freaking NBA logos, probably.

Because headbands usually have giant seams in the middle. They're inside-out so they don't have the NBA logo out.

/dammit Baron Davis is in on the scheme! It's all a conspiracy!

I wonder what the percentages are for people knowing who Spike Lee is?

I wanna say a majority of people who know he exists know him as "that Knicks fan guy"

1) Knicks fan that sits front row
2) Makes movies with black people
3) Reggie Miller argues with him

ok, here's something I've been-a-ponderin'...

Will Melo ever be a key piece in a championship team? I'm too lazy to look up actual statistics, but I'd be surprised if any of his playoff teams were higher than a 7-seed. Historically, teams with a pure scorer as their leader haven't accomplished much. Gervin, Wilkins, Hill (in prime), Iverson...all these guys could score the ball, but needed it in their hands wayyyy to much to be effective. I think Melo and the Knicks have the same problem. Thoughts?

Yes, in 2003 with Syracuse.

Why the hell is Evan Turner under the "More" for this? Are there a lot of people searching for Evan Turner stories?

The Nuggets were the #2 seed in 2009, losing to the Lakers in WCF....thank you Chauncey Billups!

The nuggets went to the WC championship once. I dont think Melo will ever win a championship. You need to do things like play defense and rebound.

Last 20 games of last season, he was rebounding like a mofo. Not to be contrary, because you're absolutely right. He also needs to get people involved in the offense, so his boys aren't out of whack when things go up tempo.

He's a solid rebounder. And he CAN play defense.

You are right he was on an absolute scoring and rebounding tear when Lin and Stoudemire were out. He hasn't done it in the playoffs or consistantly enough to say he's changed though.

I remember you. You think Josh McDaniels was a solid drafter and made good personnel moves. And now you're saying Melo is a good rebounder and defender? Hah!

Although I meant last season, before Lin was on the team. It seemed like he was close to leading the team in rebounding almost every game as the season was nearing a close. Really laid out. Haven't seen that kind of intensity from him this season at all.

He's a small forward - he's No. 8 in the league in rebounds/game. He rebounds well for his position.

And McDaniels' terrible reputation far exceeds the backlash against him. Shanahan left that team in shambles.

Okay, I shouldn't have started that sentence, then finished it later without reading it. McDaniels' reputation for poor moves far exceeds how bad the moves were at the time.

Dougie AXP: Hockey thread?

No, the hockey thread was greenlit like 12 hours before the games started and someone greenlit every other sports thread submitted today. Scroll down.
