Let's see, wrestling has:

TV coverage
A ring
announcers
Instant replay
ticket buyers
arenas and stadiums
athletes
injuries
rookies and veterans
wins and losses
rules
referees
championships
legends
scripted outcomes based on the decisions of the industry's most powerful person.

Yeah, get it out of the Sports tab.

Last I saw in the sheets was a couple weeks back, where it said that the decisions had been made, but WWE was waiting to announce.

I'm betting on Perfect Jr., White Virgil, and most of the current regular Superstars crew to get the ax... and possibly the smasher. Or, to put it another way... anyone Brodus Clay squashed and jiggled over before the Dolph Ziggler feud began doesn't have much of a future with WWE.

Damnit, vodak on the keyboard thanks to your smasher line. lol (BTW, whenever John Axford comes out to pitch for the Brewers, the Demolition theme goes through my head.) The only thing that's giving me hope is that IIRC, the axe swings right after Wrestlemania, and we really haven't seen anything yet. They also seem to be giving more focus to developmental.

Superstars is good for the young workers since it gives them a taste of life on the road before getting put on the main roster and getting a proper push. Having guys like Ryan, JTG and the like on the roster are good because they probably won't be getting any kind of a push in the upcoming seconds and they can work squash matches and put guys like Brodus Clay and Ryback over. If you go back to the Superstars era, most of the enhancement talent consisted of local veterans that were good, if not great workers, but never had the look or the desire for whatever reason to go to New York or Atlanta. Some of the local guys from my neck of the woods included Tom "Rocky" Stone and Frankie DeFalco, both who were area mainstays and some of the better trainers. You need someone who can work and knows their shiat to get someone over. Which was the whole reason why they filled TV pre-Monday Night Wars with squashes. I know, different business model then, but some of that can be used in today's product.

I also think that for the 2nd/3rd generation guys, they need to let them keep their names, instead of the D-movie-type horrible names. It won't hurt Vince even though he likes to give gimmicks that he can control and it might generate interest with people that remember guys like Curt Hennig, Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham. What the fark is a Husky Harris? Does he wear Toughskins to the ring?

Oh, the horror, the horror...

Speaking of Vince, he now wants more rehearsals at WWE events and wants the writers and producers to communicate more. There were a lot of fingers being pointed at the problems at Extreme Rules including John Cena's promo and Brock Lesnar almost getting hurt as well as the timing issues on RAW.

One person close to the process expects that WWE content will be more rigidly scripted and that Vince is going to have to approve just about everything.

/also, in response to Ed, the latest the sheets had just yesterday was that the wrestlers are expecting releases at any time.

What's the source you're quoting for either story? Honest question, as I haven't had time to dig into the kayfabe sheets tonight.

Oh, and farking great. I understand they have time constraints, but when you trot out people live... Let me put it this way: The only people I know who can take it home in 5 seconds and make it make sense are veteran TV news types that do a lot of live shots. Rehearsals will make the backstage stuff more wooden and the live stuff more wooden than a lumberyard with the lumber stacked on wood shelves.

Back in the day, or even in my day, the booker would say to the wrestlers, "Give me 'X' minuets, 3 false finishes and the baby goes over with his finisher." This will sound like the results of a study from the Duh Institute, but damn near every room from the Keil Auditorium to the Knights of Columbus hall in West Allis, WI share a same feature: a clock on the wall. The bell rings, the boys look at the clock, okay, we have 14 minutes and the magic happens. With WWE and TNA, the refs are wired so they can relay instructions. How about trimming the promos so the boys have more time to work the crowd and make the shiat in the ring matter.

/Would I be drunkenly ranting on Fark at damn near 6am?
