I think kwame appreciates your level of support.

Raging Thespian: I would honestly be fairly freaked out.

I'd venture to guess that anyone who answers this question honestly would be fairly freaked out.

cackylacky: I'd like to think I wouldn't. But, I don't really know.

I think in your case, you better make peace with that soon. Cause I know a dirty little secret or two.

Well, since I'm not allowed to date due to being married, and if I'm considered as dating her, I'd be fairly impressed at the thoroughness of the surgeons, even giving her the ability to carry a child.

My friend was dating a preop and broke it off because her dick was bigger than his.

Well now they have to pay for their own meal at least.

This reminded me of something else that seems to be a... thing. A surprising number of people apparently feel that they should be told if their partner was previously obese.

Because that is a huge thing that someone should be upfront about. Its like saying you don't have a kid, when you have 3, or you are divorced when you are really still married, or you are an astronaut, when you are really some IT dude.

/sorry about the 3rd one ladies.

I can't blame him there. What if it works out? 20 years down the road your wife is still laughing about when her dick was bigger than yours.

It would be useful to know if the hottie you're currently dating was formerly a fattie. It means you can control them with cake.

Previously obese? Not a big deal. Previously powdered her yam bag with gold bond every morning? A big deal.

MissFeasance: Yes, probably. That's something I would want to find out before the whole dating thing commences.

That's the double-edged sword (no pun intended... OK, maybe a little pun intended). If they tell right away, any knee-jerk reaction would probably be to break things off before anything serious started. However, if they wait, there's that whole 'trust and honesty' issue that is broken. That being said, if I found that out from someone I was dating, that would probably be our last date.

So? Wouldn't someone like that want to date someone who wouldn't have a knee jerk reaction to something like that?

It would be much better to go through that a dozen times, and then finally find a person who was truly ok with it, than any other scenario.

I think lying to someone from the start of your relationship about a pretty big deal is a great way to build trust.

rostit: LineNoise: God damnit. She is real. How many times do I have to tell you she is busy modeling in canada!

Oh yea.

So essentially, there was this wattage regulator type thing burried deep down in the fan assembly. Apparently the EPA makes any ceiling fan that can potentially have a light kit installed on it that was made in the last few years have one.

So if I was to say, put 500watt bulbs in my light fixture, the fan wouldn't let them draw that much power. Which makes no sense, because the thing limited the wattage to something like 400 watts, and they don't make bulbs big enough that I could have exceeded that even if I was an idiot and tried.

But yea, apparently that thing flaked out when one of my bulbs burned out, and started the whole problem. Or it just blew and zorched my bulb, so I just wired around it and problem solved. What was annoying was:

1. It was burried way down in the fan housing, completely independent of the light attachment. I had to actually pull the fan motor out to get to it.

2. If it was done for environmental reasons, its retarded, because anyone not quite as stubborn as me would have just threw out the fan and bought a new one, which I am sure is envionmentally worse than me using a bigger lightbulb than I need

3. Strangely, the wattage regulator was made by a competitor of who made my fan, and nobody would sell me a replacement part

But yea, problem solved. After I spent god knows how many hours trying to fix a stupid $100 fan.

its a fuse basically. Its to keep people from putting too high a wattage bulb in to prevent them from causing a fire and then suing the fan company. That shows how long its been since I worked on one of those. I have seen them in other types of lights, but never in a fan.

Holy crap thats annoying. Glad it worked out though.
