Yes, they are. Just like they fell into the contraception trap. Republicans are dumb. They have decided that its better to listen to birther blogs and neo con farksticks, than to appear even to slightly back Obama. Their fear of the teabagger has gained full control of their lives.

Instead of saying "Thank God Bin Laden is dead." They've spent a week now reminding everyone that the black, Muslim, usurper was the one that ordered his death. They've turned a one day story into a campaign stump speech point. Now Romney has to talk about the Pill and how much he hates a dead goat farker, as much as he does the economy.

I don't know if it was a trap, but whining about an incumbent in an election year highlighting a great accomplishment is just plain pathetic, and reinforces the GOP as the Pussy Party.

But, I have little doubt that Obama is more than happy to let these pussies keep reminding people what administration took the fkr out.

By whining about the unfairness of Obama's attacks, all Romney and his surrogates did was turn a web-only campaign video into a weeklong discussion of how Obama killed America's top enemy. That's a fight Romney "cannot hope to win,"

No, that's not true at all! You can win this fight, Romney! Keep at it, man!

"I do not concur in the words of Barack Obama in a plan to enter an ally of ours... I don't think those kinds of comments help in this effort to draw more friends to our effort," Romney told reporters on the campaign trail.

Obama on Wednesday said if elected president in November 2008 he would be willing to launch military strikes against al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan with or without the approval of the Pakistani government of President Pervez Musharraf.

"If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will," Obama said.

Sorry, MittNugget, you're a puss. A puss on record. A bigger puss then you could ever hope to portray Carter to be.

Remember when conservatives liked posting that site with how many campaign promises Obama had yet to fulfill? Why don't they post that link anymore?

Naw. Mittens had to hit back. I agree with this part of the article:

Either way, Team Mitt had to hit back: This brouhaha is only tangentially about bin Laden, says Josh Marshall at Talking Points Memo. Modern campaigns are "meta-battles over power, masculinity, and dominance," and by smacking Romney across the face, hard, Team Obama is trying to "unman" him. Romney's only real response in "this sort of schoolyard power play" was to hit back, or risk getting "owned" by his rival.

The bolded part is why "Mittens" is a great taunting nickname to use. It emasculates Romney, turning him into a girly mon.

Pincy: Pretty much anything the Democrats do or say is a trap for Republicans because the Republicans just can't stop being batshiat stupid crazy insane.

And yet about half of the country will vote for them, because having absolutely insane people is better than having (a) someone who won't cut taxes even more, (b) someone who might give medical vare to someone who needs it, (c) someone who's black, or (d) all of the above.

I know so many otherwise reasonable people who will vote for demonstrably wrong and insane people with all of the contingent damage they could bring to the country because of one of those reasons.

So "I would have done it to" is manning up? Mittens (I do like the term) really had no way to handle this gracefully. Spiking the ball (is a bullshiat statement) but what is funny in the simple mind on the GOP base it actually reinforces that Obama actually won. Above all else, Americans like a winner. Let's call it 2-0 for Obama. He gets a point for his success and one for the rebound after Romney fumbled. Your turn Mittens.

Yeah, you keep overestimating the intelligence of the electorate, that will get you a LONG ways in this country...

Sadly, 50% of Americans have below-average intelligence.

On every single online poll (yes, I know, accuracy, etc) I've seen, 50% or more of people have stated that they believe Obama has gone too far in claiming responsibility for Osama's death, and that he shouldn't take credit for it at all.

The thing about 'any President would have pulled the trigger on bin Laden' is that it's demonstrably wrong. Obama did. Bush, who had it happen on his watch and who had twice the time Obama did, failed to pull the trigger.

I'm joining in the chorus of this being 'how DARE you have a spine and campaign on it!'

ghare: I beg you, Obama: come out in favor of breathing.

This. As I said on another site: This isn't some grand chess move by Obama. This is the corner that the GOP has paintedthemselves in by not only opposing EVERYTHING Obama does but opposing it in the manner that they have chosen. Namely that not only is any given decision by Obama wrong, it's so self-evidently wrong and so appallingly wrong that you don't even need to explain to a right-thinking person why it's wrong. You just point and pretend to be offended, or point and smirk knowingly.

Pincy: Pretty much anything the Democrats do or say is a trap for Republicans because the Republicans just can't stop being batshiat stupid crazy insane.

Pretty much.

Romney has an uphill battle in what really should be an even set election. (I say even set because the nation is pretty evenly divided and has been for a number of years). And he has his right wing media and tea party friends to thank for that.

There are two sets of "Republicans".

First you have the silent majority type that want to put up a good fight and knock Obama out of office. Romney, his staff, the guy you know at work/school/gym/family that is Republican but isn't batshiat insane.

Then you have the certifiably insane, vocally deafening Republicans. The ones they have been manufacturing since Clinton got his 2nd term. The ones that watch FOX religiously. The ones that just KNOW the gubmint is coming for their guns. The ones that think we are in a holy war and we must win it. The ones that hijack the debate and set the tone screwing the first group over completely.

I predict that the Republican party is going to have to go through a complete re-imaging and restructuring. Much like the Democrats went through during and after the civil rights movement. There is no rebound from the full retard status they've achieved. It's why you see so many people insisting they are libertarian now (they are too goddamn embarrassed to come out and say they are Republican)

Though it's not going to happen until you see full WH/congress control w/ super-majority (by either party, that doesn't matter). The nation is too evenly divided as is to afford or risk a re-branding until then.

All part of the Rove strategy rainbow. What you said is also standing operating procedure. I think it all derivative of the "big lie" strategy. Make a lie big enough and people will believe there is at least an element of truth to it. I would attribute that to someone else but I don't want to Godwin the thread.

Here's a good article on it.

The economy - *if* it gets worse -- is just about Romney's only strong point. Look for the Obama campaign to bring up as many other issues as possible. When they mention something about contraception, the right-wing derptards can't help but go crazy about it, and in turn Romney is then forced to address the issue.

From my own perspective, Obama is bulletproof when it comes to foreign policy, and Romney literally has zero experience. I'm sure the Democrats will keep trying to bring it up as much as possible.
