Since the lockout, no team that finished outside of the top 10 in goals scored has won the Stanley Cup. I believe only one team outside the top 10 even made it to the finals (Edmonton was 12th). If the Flyers (3rd in goals) lose this series, we'll be left with some combination of the following:

Preds (9th)
Rangers (11th)
Caps (14th)
Devils (15th)
Blues (21st)
Kings (29th)

Normally I hate the Devils but this is too good of a chance to see some low scoring, nail-biting hockey throughout the conference finals and Cup finals. So go Devils.

Just checked the devils site now, and while the cheapo seats are sold out, I had no problem finding good pairs in the $120 sections.

Yea, they will sell out again I'm sure. They did last night, but not until right before the puck dropped.

Not knocking the devils, I just really don't understand how they aren't a harder ticket to get. The arena is real easy to get to from manhattan, or anywhere with a transit connection, and is easier to get to by car than the meadowlands was. Plus its a pretty nice place.

I look forward to seeing Bryzgalov get lit up again.

His GAA in the playoffs (3.62) is sandwiched between Luongo (3.59) and Fleury (4.63, 19th out of 19).

If the Flyers somehow escape the Devils this round, the Rangers or the Capitals will destroy them in the conference finals.

Also, the Kings look fantastic. Too bad both Quick and Lundqvist can't win the Vezina, they both deserve it. Rinne is a distant 3rd.

The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. There just aren't that many Devils fans. The arena is fantastic, the team has been consistently good and frequently great for nearly two decades, and they still can't draw dick. It's just the way it is.

My buddy has season tickets, so aside from when the fly guys are in town, I'll go to a few devils games over the course of the season. They might not sell out every night, but they do draw a solid crowd for every game. The emptiest I have seen that place was during a all out blizzard, and they still managed to fill most of the lower bowl when they told everyone to just sit where they feel like.

A quick look at the #s shows they average about 87%, which isn't great by NHL standards, but should still be enough to make your playoff tickets a tough ticket, especially considering they don't raise the prices for the first 2 rounds.
