Welcome to the club, Mervyn. Who needs a legacy when you've got this much money?

Who the hell is Mervyn King? I don't follow UK finance - can somebody explain it to me in relation to the US treasury system?

Obviously the problem is that we just didn't deregulate hard enough. Remove all financial regulations and eliminate all taxes on capital gains, and the economy will trickle itself into recovery in no time.

All because of the repeal of Glass-Steagall and probably a few other things.

Bank of England

Mervyn King

Some potential good news - possibly the Bank of England will have some regulatory power restored to it.

Oh, and the FSA

This is the same Mervyn King who sandbagged Gordon Brown's recovery efforts while pimping Cameron's austerity drive. How's that working out, Merv?

Oh, what's that? You're back in recession?

Oh, crumbs.

Glass Steagall was repealed in England? You don't say.

/glass steagall didn't have anything to do with it. Although regulators obviously failed, as did many other participants.

He's a knight of the kingsguard. He was the one who fought Syrio Forel when they came to capture Arya.
