How do we know that isn't the mom of the kid with her sister (the kid's aunt)? What? Just because it's two women it has to be lesbians!?

In all seriousness, I know JC Penny, like any other company is just trying to make a buck at the end of the day, but I'm impressed with their continued support on this issue.

Apparently, JCP has decided that appealing to the gay community is more profitable than bowing to bigots.

Free market in action!

/why do you hate capitalism OMM?

OMM usually sounds like it could use a deep tonguing.

I went out of my way to buy from JCP (OK, I was visiting my Mom on Delaware
where they have no sales tax) last time I needed pants.

This is the third or so outrage of One Million Moms against JC Penney. They really have a hard-on for that store.

So to speak.

I love how the very first sentence of this article, which Jezebel decided to run as a "top story," talks about how irrelevant this group is. Except, you know, when you're looking for hits on your website.

At first that was my thought.... until I clicked on the photo to blow it up, and the text on the page says it is some woman and her "partner". So, they are "telling" it.

So, past, that, these groups like OMM say that this is "taking sides" on something....

What "side"? They are showing a "family" that consists of what you see. There is nothing implied here that JC Penney thinks they should have the right to be married, there is nothing implied that they think everyone should be gay and have a partner.

What is the "goal" of groups like OMM? Yes, I know they don't want gays to have legal rights, I get that. But, actions like this.... you want society to ignore them? You want society to try to make them all commit suicide? You want to burn them at the stake? What is your end game here? "OMG, you actually gave RECOGNITION to a LESBIAN!!" Is that where we are?

JCPenney puts out a monthly catalog, and this catalog usually includes a spread for celebrating whatever holidays fall in that month. These ladies are in the May book because of Mothers Day.

Now I'm not saying anything for sure, but I would like to point out that there is a Fathers Day, and it falls in June. There will also be a June catalog from JCPenney. It will have pictures in it - quite probably pictures of fathers. Almost certainly more than one. I've said too much.

/I work at JCPenney corporate, so I'm really getting a kick...

Well, their point was "If they want our business, we will boycott them, and then they will 'hear us' because of that, and then they can't ignore our demands, because we kept our money from them!"

But, a handful of busybodies who won't shop at JC Penney anymore, vs. getting mostly successful well-off gay people/couples to shop at/shop more at JCP.

I think JCP will somehow come out ahead here.

Pin one of them down on the issue and they'll probably say:

1) Choose to be straight
2) Go to conversion therapy
3) Go back in the closet
4) Remain celibate

They don't like to say those things publicly very often but it gives them cover to spew all the other bigoted bullshiat they spew. And I say bigoted because these groups genuinely do want gay people to just go away or, if they're generous, go back in the closet (i.e. "I don't care what you do in your bedroom but...").

Either way, teh gheys will never be genuine members of polite society in their eyes and should never be visible.

Look, angries, the queers have money too, and you're just going to have to get over it. In fact, the queerboy homo gays have TONS of disposable income, and they love to spend it on sh*t that men typically don't spend their money on. They're a f*cking goldmine. I assume the queerlady homo girls double up huge on domestic sh*t as well. A company has a lot more to gain by marketing to them than catering to angry old biddies that haven't bought a new pair of underwear since Nixon was in short pants.

Major GOP donor arrested in $100 million veteran charity scam

The U.S. Marshal Service announced Tuesday that it had captured one of America's Most Wanted fugitives who is accused of creating a fake charity for Navy veterans that funneled some of the $100 million collected to Republican candidates.

Look, homosexual couples frequently fall into the DINK (dual income, no kids) marketing segment. That shiat is like catnip to retailers, of course they're going to appeal to that demographic.

Plus, you know, there's nothing wrong with being GLBTQ or straight. It's all good.

One Million Moms is a subsidiary of the American Family Association, which has (rightly) been labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), in a 2005 report, stated that the AFA, along with other groups, engaged in hate speech to "help drive the religious right's anti-gay crusade."[107] Mark Potok of the SPLC determined that the turning point was 2003's Lawrence v. Texas, in which the Supreme Court struck down Texas's anti-sodomy laws. After that, the Christian right spent millions on advertisements,[107] and on pastor briefings organized by activists such as born-again Christian David Lane.[108] Lane helped AFA put constitutional opposite-sex marriage amendments on the ballots of 13 states.[107]

2012-05-03 10:11:29 AM
FTA: Some even experienced in person the store manager saying "Thank you" and walking off while their customer and our concerned members were in mid-sentence. OMM has been told that JCP corporate office told store managers to say "Thank you" and then walk away.

That is so awesome.

While I'm all for gay marriage, I think that first chart is complete BS. I seriously doubt they surveyed for gay marriage in the 1920s, and I'm even more doubtful that 1990 a majority of Americans supported gay marriage.

They surveyed by cohort. I think that means they asked people "When were you born and do you support the right for gays to marry?" That's how you get that number.
