My younger sister beat up Tommy R., on the school bus-7th grade, he'd been bulling her mercilessly, she'd had enough and took charge. He was shorter by at least 6 inches, didn't care if he was hitting a girl and she still beat the crap outta him. The kids were cheering her on too. She was kicked off the bus for about a week. His face was full of bruises for weeks.

I told my kid to punch his cousin once. The cousin was a terror whose parents would say "Sean, honey, don't hit" over and over but never actually do anything. Finally I told my son that the next time cousin hit him he should hit him back as hard as he possibly could and that I would have his back if the other adults said anything. He did and cousin started bawling like a little girl but he never hit anyone after that, at least not while my son was around.

Father of the year candidate goes to: A man who encouraged his daughter to run away from a bully and live in fear until the end of the school year when she could get a 10 week hiatus from being stalked and picked on.

My CSB-
In high school my sister came home one day and told my mother "I'm going to get into a fight tomorrow and I am going to get suspended for three days." Three days was the standard suspension for fighting.

My mom asked her what was going on. There was a gal who was bullying my sister and kept challenging her to fight, then bullying her when she refused to fight. "Mom, it is the only way this is going to stop."

My mom, thought a minute. Looked at my sister and asked, "Do you know how to fight?"
My sister just shrugged, so my mom said, "Ok, let me show you a few moves to get her on the ground . . ." and proceeded to do exactly that.

Often back in the day a simple 3 minute fight could end a year's worth of bullshiat (guys seemed to understand this).
