Philly played like crap last night, actually scratch that. Philly played a great 1st period and fell into a coma the last two periods. Hopefully WSH can put on a better show tonight.

Let's go Caps! oh and Preds too!

Normally I'd want the Coyotes to win but tonight I hope that the Preds absolutely destroy them. The team management needs to be supported in their decision to suspend those two knuckleheads & not have it backfire in their faces.

So for tonight, Go Caps, Go Preds

As a Coyotes fan, I do endorse what they did. I respect the Preds management for standing on principle and doing the right thing. Considering how crappy those 2 idiots played, it was probably easy for Polie and Trotz to make that move but that doesn't matter.

If they were playing anyone else but the Coyotes, I'd be rooting for the Preds tonight. However, they're going against my team so I can't do that.

I said it in the red thread, and I'll say it again. The Preds management should not be commended for this. They brought these players in. The Kostitsyn brothers, who were ran out of Montreal because they spent more time partying with Russian Mafia folks than honing their game. Alex Radulov, who left Nashville because the veteran players on the team wouldn't put up with his shenanigans (and, upon his departure, the organization used words like "head-case" to describe him). How is this behavior from these guys a surprise to anyone? Yes, they're talented players. But the baggage they bring with them is well documented, and Nashville should've known the risks when they traded for/signed them.

This reminds me of the Sean Avery Experiment in Dallas. They brought him in for a big paycheck. And then were shocked, SHOCKED when he said something stupid and got himself suspended. Should Dallas then have been commended for shipping him out of town after he did what everyone knew he was going to eventually do anyways?

If I return a chainsaw to Home Depot after I accidentally cut my tallywhacker off with it, should I then be commended for getting rid of an obviously dangerous piece of equipment?

Yeah, they knew what they were getting into, let them crash. I get that.

But they easily could've swept this under the rug, fined them and let them play. They chose not to do that. If they had done that, the players who have been there all season would've lost all respect for their bosses (and considering Weber and Suter are FAs this summer, that's kind of important IMHO).

That said: if the Coyotes win tonight, this series is OVER. The Preds losing tonight would rip the heart out of the team and their fans. The Preds might win Game 4, but they're not winning 4 straight.

Silvara: Dude, they stayed out past curfew for a night. You're acting like they beat up some small children or something.

Dude, you're acting like I kicked your puppy.

If they just stayed out a few minutes past curfew, why did the team suspend them (a pair of top-six forwards) for a pivotal playoff game? I'm not acting like they did anything. I made no judgment on the players activities or the inherent evilness therein, did I? My comments related strictly to all the kudos for the francise. I personally disagree that franchise should receive a standing ovation for having to suspend guys with a track record of bad decision making for making bad decisions.

Yeah, very true, and I think that's the other aspect of this whole thing. By suspending these two yahoos, they can bring in two energy guys (like Tootoo) who are DEFINITELY Team First guys whom the crowd in Nashville absolutely loves. They'll get the place fired up and the team can rally around each other.

And besides, what've they got to lose? It's not like they were winning in this series with them in the line-up.

Exactly. What they needed to beat Detroit is the complete opposite of what they need to beat Phoenix. They type of team the Preds will likely be tonight can beat the Coyotes.

oh me too. i hope both these series go seven. gonna suck cuz it looks like the west is just gonna be a coasting

but then again, last year it was the east that had two round 2 sweeps (1 vs caps and 1 vs phl... horrible round 2 for this alcoholic)....

but it also had Osama Bin Laden dying and all..

anywho.. Semin showed up for his play, he's done now for the game.

No.

Like I've been saying over and over, Nashville won't win unless (a) Phoenix makes mistakes and (b) Nashville can actually convert on them. Rinne's all they have, and since they clearly figured out how to beat him in the last game, the Predators are done.
