Sarah silverman had this joke about enjoying the playboy mansion because of the pathetic stuff that some of the men do at the parties and as example she cites seeing lou ferrigno wearing a hulk neck tie.

Sounds like sour grapes.

But in this movie he protested that he was a real human being with real feelings.

He needs to calm down and turn back into Bill Bixby.

I saw him on the Celebrity Apprentice. He seems like he is brain damaged, and not just because of his speech impediment or his oddly twitching face. That guy is unbalanced, narcissistic and just flat-out creepy.

There is typecasting and then there is cemented typecasting. Guess which one El Ferrigno is a victim of.

Did he really do the voice work for the Hulk in this? I just see JW giving him one of those yadda yadda yadda toys, then saying, 'ok lou, get to work with the grunts and roars.'

I swear I remember it ending with the hulk doing the splits off a trampoline while an explosion went off in the background. I also remember being staggered at how lame it was, not just as an ending to the series but just as an action scene in general.

And for the record, I think Ferrigno could probably play the Hulk right now without it being too much of a stretch:

Honestly, is the CGI Hulk much bigger?Add some forced perspective to make him look taller and it could be interessting.

I have tickets to meet him at the Avengers premiere here on Friday. Say what you will, I'm stoked and can't wait to meet him. The Hulk was an important part of my life as a kid.

He's more ripped now than when the show was on. If Bill Bixby hadn't died there would have been no reason to stop (Banner was planned to come back to life in the next TV movie - you don't think falling out of an airplane would really kill the Hulk, do you?), although Bixby would be pushing 80 now. It would have been ironic if Bixby had aged out of the role before Ferrigno.

While I agree that he seems brain damaged, or perhaps didn't have much of a brain to begin with, but you can't really fault him for the speech impediment part since he is partially deaf. I think the twitch is related to that because he looks like he's trying to pop his ears or something, but I don't know. He's definitely delusional.

Although I'll admit to feeling kind of bad for him on the show, until he got super annoying. Either way he didn't belong on a show like that. Not that everyone else is super bright, but I don't get why they bring on the mental midget types - it just seems cruel to them. Although I suppose Trump does indulge them and treats them like they're special.

Yeah, I give the guy credit. He's in great shape... Especially compared to Arnold.

Always see this guy at Wondecon and its neat seeing him but for the life of me I can never think about anything I would ever want to talk to him about. And he always looks grumpy.

Well, considering he was the Hes played or voiced 5 hulks...

All I've ever seen of him were his appearances on the King of Queens, and in those he seemed to be making fun of himself and the Hulk character.

I think it's funny that he keeps getting hired to voice the Hulk, considering that when he actually played the Hulk, he never spoke.

That's right.. partway through the TV series, the guy doing the roars died, and they had to have someone else do it.. odd bit of trivia that came to mind now.

Yes it was. Pity that the director,Louis Leterrier, went on to helm the disastrous and unnecessary Clash Of The Titans remake.

I love how Arnold got into his mind and completely punked him out during "Pumping Iron".

2012-05-03 01:34:16 PM
All I know is after seeing the movie Pumping Iron, Lou took a ridiculous amount of shiat from Arnold, who used every sneaky, asshat trick in the book to psych Lou out during workouts and competitions. I have no idea what Arnold would say about him behind his back (no pun intended, making fun of a deaf dude is a dick move), but most of it was on par with 5th grade playground antics.

I realize competition is competition, but karmically I think Lou came out ahead in the end in terms of his overall shape at his age. He came pretty far in competitive bodybuilding, made a name for himself that still gives him nerd cred 40 years later, and had cameos in the two Hulk films.

/Yeah yeah, welcome to Fark...
//I wouldn't piss him off, regardless...
