Lisa: Don't you mean three million dollars?
Mayor Quimby: (looks around nervously, adjusts his tie) Of course. How silly of me.

The big question here is: Is he a Republican or a Democrat.

I need to know if I need to fly into a vitriolic rage or find thin excuses for his behavior.

On Wednesday, county officials were still trying to sort out how Bellinger planned to use the boat to promote Okaloosa County tourism.

Can't they customize it for tourists to take boat rides? This promotes tourism.

Because renting an entire yacht per hour (elsewhere) of similar style is on average 800 an hour.

But hey you know "get jobs".

Since the position isn't elected, it's an equal opportunity for dumbasses of all political ilks.

He should have been renting the yacht and writing it off as expenses for photo shoots to promote tourism/for the new website. It's the boat this week, then next week a plane for aerial photos. The week after you rent the yacht for some conference to host future commercial developers. Plus plane rides for them so they can see the county first hand, etc. Then in a year or so you propose how owning a yacht and a plane would be cheaper than constantly renting them and get approval to buy them. Run on a platform where you saved the taxpayers money by purchasing the yacht.

Whythe Florida Tag?

Taxpayer Money Used To Maintain Million-Dollar Yacht

LOS ANGELES (CBS) - "With the city going broke you may be surprised to find out that Los Angeles is the proud owner of a million dollar yacht and it is about to undergo hundreds of thousands of dollars in renovations at taxpayer expense."

"But the mayor said that it is not what we think.

"It's not a yacht. It's a boat," Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said.

But whatever you call it, the Angelena II is 73 feet long and worth about a million bucks - according to a boat broker we contacted - and it is all your money".

My thougts as well. Calling that a "major faux paus" is itself a major faux paus. Buying the yatch is farking retarded and hopefully illegal in some way.

"Commissioners Dave Parisot and James Campbell opposed firing Bellinger. They said he should be given the chance to learn from his mistake."

Yeah, the poor baby couldn't have known that purchasing such a large item in secret was a bad thing. I mean, it's not like hiding it is a dead giveaway that you know it's wrong...

FTA: "I am apoplectic right now," Commissioner Wayne Harris told Bellinger. "I don't even know what to say. ... This is a major faux pas."

After several minutes of silence and quizzical looks from everyone else in the room, a mob quickly formed, and chased Harris into a pond full of gators, amid grumblings about "big werds" and "fancy book-lernin'".

Why is this a bad thing? Didn't Obama buy a whole car company?
