The only aircraft allowed to fly within the restricted area include regularly-scheduled commercial passenger and cargo carriers, police, and military planes supporting the Secret Service.

What kind of planes did they use in the 911 attacks? Small, private planes?

Yeah, but see, now we have the Transportation Security Adminstration to protect us from things happening to the big planes.

Actually, they *COULD* have, had he been willing to swallow it or stick it up his ass.

Smartest thing to do though is to send him back with *ZERO* incriminating information, and then pass it to him in a secure manner. Have him memorize whatever basic information he needs to get his initial information, then have him pick up his orders, new cipher materials, etc. based on that.

And avoid using electronics to do it. I know they are quick and convenient to use. I use them myself. But from a security standpoint, when you are going up against the big boys (NSA, GCHQ, etc.), you don't have a chance of beating them at their own game.

I think you're missing the point.

Many things are possible if you're competent.

And have enough funding to get on a plane. Taking Bin Laden's money probably did more for security than every TSA goon combined.

VIP gatherings, presidential photo-ops, etc. should be held out in the country where they can't hurt anybody.

The advisory says lesser violations by airmen might result in civil penalties and the suspension of airmen certificates, as well as criminal charges.

If you stray into the no fly zone you might as well ram a building because they'll make you wish you were dead.

So seeing as how it's Chicago does that mean they warn you as the missiles are already in flight to take you down?

2012-05-02 04:16:45 PM
So, a commercial plane flying at 400 MPH covers 10 nautical miles is how much time? Unless you have circling aircraft locked on already, this is just tough talk and more security show.

Light planes have never been used in a terrorist attack.

Airliners have been used in terrorist attacks with massive fatalities

Ryder trucks have been used in actual terrorist bombings with massive fatalities.

Fark: Which ones get banned from traveling anywhere in the area?

At lets we got to use our F-22's. All those people who said they were junk because we didn't use them in Iran must be feeling pretty silly right now.

And they are doing a damn good job, too. How many terrorists have made it past the TSA to hijack planes? Zero. Time to give the boys and girls at the TSA a pay raise!

A nautical mile is about one minute of arc of latitude along any meridian. It amounts to 1,852 meters, or about 1.15078 standard miles.

I'm too dumb and lazy to do the math, but could someone tell me what 0.00001 standard (sic) miles equals in cubits?

Non-issue; this warning is given regularly and there's an entire checklist of procedures to go through before an interceptor is even scrambled, much less ordered weapons free.

F22 pilots don't die from lack of oxygen. All they have to do is reach down and manually turn on their oxygen.

At night, in Alaska, while traveling at Mach 2+.

I keep waiting for a repeat of 68. Chicago cops have rarely shown restraint in their day to day business. I think all the pent up frustration/anger (pick one) is busting at the seams to come down on someone's head. These demonstrations will test that.

But this only covers private planes and such. No one would ever try to use commercial planes as weapons in a terrorist attack. I mean, seriously, the idea is ludicrous!

Probably not. That's a pretty small warhead, and an airliner is a pretty big plane. Oh, you might eventually "kill" it, but not before it could be piloted into a building.

I mean, this guy flew a C150 into the White House. Oh the humanity!

Listen zoomie, if you keep giving the civilians facts, how can they get properly whipped up into hysteria about small planes falling on neighborhoods all over Chicago?
