If Al Quitteh had any marketing sense, they'd buy the whole lot and give them away, with the initials 'OBL' carved in each one. Then, the evil of their deeds and the madness could be spread everywhere.

A new brick down at the Home Depot is something like 28 cents, so it seems like these are going for a pretty deep discount. Obviously, the Franklin Mint hasn't gotten involved in this yet.

...but still, it's tacky.

Ah yes, what are those worth now? A punch in the face, or the nads?

It makes me wish I didn't have this damned sense of ethics. Otherwise I'd buy a few gross of these things, slap a serial number on each one and maybe glue a "24k gold-clad lmited edition collector's medallion" on the front of each one that featured the twin towers or a crying eagle or some damn thing, add a "certificate of authenticity" and then sell them to suckers for $50-100 ea

wildsnowllama: *sniff* We've done our part. We've spread capitalism to the Middle East.

...

That's why we're there, right?

*Spread* capitalism to the middle east? Like Algebra , Astronomy, and Arabic Numerals, that was one of those ideas that went the other way round. While Thomas Aquinas was bloviating that it was immoral to buy something and sell it at a higher price (and god help you if you lent money at interest), The Arabs had become the merchants (and more specifically the middle men) to the known world.

As backwards as they may be in so many other ways, Middle Easterners are, by and large , world -class capitalists.

Ahh come on, live a little. For $10 you can build a pit big enough to roast a whole pig.

/He who roasts a whole pig has many friends.

I'm going to hell for giggling while imagining the little *clink* the towers would make if you knocked it down...

That is a good price. But I doubt you'd want to make a bbq out of shiatty bricks. Kaaboom.

How much for the solid gold bricks they found in his pants when the S.E.A.L's showed up?

I'd pay TRIPLE for one with brain matter on it.

ArcadianRefugee: I have a basement full of bricks. All from bin Laden's home. Yeup. For realz, yo.

So you're Osama brick laden then.

Note the lower case l in laden and pronounce accordingly.

I have a stone I stole from Har Magido (Armageddon). I use it as a card protector when I play poker.

Osama bricks are way better than legos. You can make all kinds of shiat with them

doglover: Bathia_Mapes: doglover: cman: So?

You can find pieces of the Berlin wall all over the place, and lets not forget that people died trying to cross it, too.

What about all the blood spilled in Jerusalem? Every grain of sand there was probably bled on by someone famous. Let's start exporting the sand out at a penny a grain.

IIRC, people were hawking bits of rubble from the WTC online too

I would if I was that kind of person. It makes sense.

Personally, I gave away my only copy of the 9/12 issue of the newspaper to the first person who asked because I don't save newspapers and similar mementos of things I wasn't involved with. It's just not in my blood.

Now antiques on the other hand. I love the idea that one of my favorite kitchen knives was used by my grandmother and now I've got it. Ideally, since I have so many knives, my kids will eventually have it if I can scrape together enough dough to get married here soon. That's the kind of history I like.

I'd never buy a piece of someone's house unless it was the whole house itself and I was able to move in.

I'd say that too but, well, Habitat for Humanity is one of those groups that I really am a sucker for. So, yeah, that is one of the charities that gets a goodly sum of cash from me twice a year so I guess I buy a lot of pieces for houses that I won't get to own nor will I even know who ended up with them. Ah well.

I say we should buy them all up and donate them to be used in rebuilding the WTC. Poetic justice.

We're not rebuilding the WTC. We decided to keep the two gaping holes in the ground as a memorial..
