cman: While we are at it, why dont we grant her a commercial pilots license? And, to be even more nicer to this fine disabled lady, why dont we give her a job as a scientist at a lab where small pox and anthrax are studied? If she were to go to school it would be discriminatory because she cannot pass the classes.

I have a better idea: Why don't we just kill all the disabled since they don't provide any benefit to humanity? They're nothing but a drain on our limited resources, and it would improve the economy if everyone pulled their weight and we got rid of all the riff-raff.

That's my final solution.

Well everyone at that high school learned an important lesson, the pity vote will get you further than your abilities can legitimately take you.

Carth: hillary: Silly Jesus: If they aren't going to give it out based on the traditional standard of popularity and blowjobs then why not give it to the person with the highest SAT score instead of the one with the lowest? Why do we reward failure (genetically or otherwise) and ignore success?

Your definition of success is seriously flawed and as a result, you will never be anywhere near as happy in life as this Down's gal will be. The kid won. That is success. Those invested parties or stakeholders (fellow students) gave it to her based on love, her love for them and their reciprocated love. That's more powerful and successful than anything you will ever be capable of understanding.

She would feel sorry for you and give you a hug, even though you still wouldn't get it.

I'm glad she won but they are high school kids. They very well could have given it to her based on pity, peer pressure to "make her dream come true", or a desire to make themselves feel better by doing a good deed.

That's the most likely and realistic explanation.

Enh I view it as better to get it out of the system in high school. Any kid who goes through life crying because some they lost prom queen to the pity vote candidate has too low of aspirations anyways. This girl's life pretty much peaked in high school. After high school its a job as a dishwasher, assuming she can master the bus routes needed to get to and from work, or straight into some kind of adult day care type of thing. It's all downhill from here. So let her have her moment of pity before the boot starts stomping on her face.

The problem is there is probably a range of people who actually DO think that way, and the internet has exposed their complete lack of brain activity by their constant posts. So snark or not, it has become increasingly difficult to identify the two.

OTOH there really wasn't anything FUNNY about what your wrote, which makes it harder to discern.

Online dating should be fun in the future for that girl.

"I'm looking at your profile. I bet you're really cute. I guess you were the best looking girl in high school."

"Well, I came in second for prom queen."

"Wow, the winner must have been a knock out."

"Um well... let's talk about you. Who do you look like?"

Well, good for her I suppose. Curious about the beauty contest. Nice to see that the students voted her for it though.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't make me immensely joyful, it's an obvious pity vote. I'm glad that it made her that happy, but I don't think a pity prom queen is a signal of the coming age of No Prejudice/Judgement/Discrimination. The only important thing about this article is that she's happy with the whole thing.

Yeah as others have pointed out downs is not that far ahead on the mental scale from retarded kids, its a lot lower than kids without downs.

You're so right. I am duly chastised. I should never respond to a deliberately over the top comment by another Farker with a modified quote from Idiocracy, including a picture of the character who said the original line, without thorough fact-checking.

Wait- I think I've seen this movie.

Wasn't there a really hot chick/cheerleader/president of the student body/queen bee of the mean girl clique/rich daddy's girl/etc who was seriously pissed off because SHE would have won the prom queen title if that other girl hadn't played on everybody's sympathies? Didn't she rip off her corsage and throw it on the dance floor when the announcement was made? I think I remember her mean-girl clique friends/subordinate queen bees switching the ballot boxes for ones they had pre-stuffed with votes for her, and then some geek kid determined to thwart their evil plans by stealing the real ballot boxes from the mean girls' lair of evil and switching them back at the last minute. And then the geek taps on the prom king's shoulder during the king/queen dance and says "I think you're dancing with my date."

That's how it went, right?

Being crowned prom queen is hardly a scholastic honor. It's a popularity contest at best. As for the kid that got the perfect SAT score, or the one that went to Harvard, success is its own reward. I'm sure they are not going to look back bitterly at the girl with Down Syndrome that won prom queen.

D: Nunez actively doesn't treat me like shiate, so she's more deserving anyway.

Bongo Blue: Just does'nt seem like Olympics without boxing...

Too many legal pitfalls and liability issues. Putting 2 tards in the ring would be like cloning the Incredible Hulk and injecting them with PCP and shark adrenaline, then turning them loose on each other. Not only would there be a very low survivability probability for both fighters, the first 2 rows of spectators would be in extremely high danger of injury or death themselves.

That's why I proposed pitting Special Olympics athletes against UFC fighters in an enclosed cage to protect the crowd.

Don't apologize. This assholes drank all the cool aid, and bought all of the PC bullshiat regarding retards.

If you are defective, be thankful you weren't born in Sparta and shut the fark up. Why the hell are we doing this bullshiat? She has a defective chromosome. She's not beautiful or smart. Pretending that she is and giving her stupid prizes makes as as farking retarded as she is.

What we have in this modern society is called compassion. We don't euthanize defective human beings. In some cases, compassionate people even try to make those less fortunate have a few bright moments in their lives. Hopefully you don't spend too much time being bitter about not getting your fair share of 'pats on the back'.
