Or, he could probably do something with compressed air that would move faster (like the Star Trek doors), but he'd have to deal with the compressor starting at odd intervals, and it would need to be better built to deal with the movement. Probably lose the ability to partially open the curtain.

I thought it was funny. College wasn't just drinking, it was also putting a lot of effort into stupid goals for the lulz or self satisfaction. Probably does get him laid and he doesn't have to be drunk.

I spent more years than I care to admit in dorms. That kid isn't doing anything notable other than pissing away money.

I am disappointed, I was hoping at least for some heavy duty actuators lifting up beds and rotating furniture instead of just "hey I got a bunch of relais hooked up to a python script".

The curtains open automatically to reveal a stunning view of the other dorms, which are co-ed.

I have to go with the whole "Most people can do with enough time".

I have my undercabinet lighting in the kitchen set up on automatic sensors, it's nice when coming home in the dark with kids or groceries in tow. It was also extremely easy to install (swap out a sensor for the switch).

The whole lights on remote controls is more of a pain in the ass than anything, especially when you have kids that move the remotes around and you can't even find one.
