Mangini doesn't believe any of coach Bill Belichick and the team's accomplishments, including three Super Bowl victories, are tainted. When he informed the league about the Patriots he says he only wanted to stop the team from doing it against the Jets.

"I don't think it gave us a significant advantage.
What? Would I want them doing it against a team I coached? Hell no, what am I crazy? That's why I called it in!"

It wasn't a competitive advantage because literally every team in the league was doing it. Why do you think the stadium wasn't set up to prevent it before Mangini got there?

F*ck you, Mangini. You drafted like shiat. Ran the team like a moron. And all because you were pissed at Belichick for passing you over for jobs. As much as I hate the what the Jets have become this year, Rex Ryan is till a million times better than you in every way.

So if every team in the league was doing it, why did Mangini care if it was done against the Jets?

Oh, well that makes complete and total sense, then.

I just hate T.B.'s arguments of "Well, we made it back to the Superbowl so we were just as great and they count". I always use the McNabb parallel for it. Donovan is not making the HOF (despite his comments), ESPN marked him right with Bernie in the very very good category. However, if he had won a Superbowl for Philly, he's in (just like if anyone brings a good career to Cleveland/Oakland). Doing something outside of the rules to gain an advantage in Superbowls that were close does taint it (because it could have swung it).

The thing is though, the stained title doesn't matter. At the end of the day, all of those wins count and there's no secret transferring to anyone else. So yes, people will question that they have "no SBs" without Spygate, but everyone will coast to the HOF on them and be listed in "Greatest of" conversations with all of those counted just the same. Maybe they would have won without the advantage, but as is often used against Bonds, maybe without cheating, the HRs could become just shots to the warning track.

Oh and I'm definitely in the "Mangini is a whiny biatch category". Why ESPN thinks him, Matt Millen, and You play to win the game are great to teach us about football.....I'll just never understand

What a doof... It's OK that they were doing it, except when it was against him. That makes about as much sense as everything else he did when he was coaching. Which in turn says a great deal about why he's not coaching anymore.

...and this sort of fan is why the Browns will forever be a 4-12 team.

/The last three coaches, including this one, have gotten a raw deal.
//Romeo is about to come out of it in KC.
//Some team will take a gamble on Mangini in the near future, and it will pay off.
//When Shurmur is unceremoniously dismissed when Holmgren gets his walking papers, he'll land on his feet somewhere else.
//It ain't the coaches, it's the culture.

It reinforces my disgust for this character. A failure and now it turns out he is a snitch. Next we'll find out he plagiarizes his commentary from Herm.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for giving Shurmur an extended opportunity to coach, especially since he never even got a full offseason to have his team learn the system they were transitioning into. All that I meant was that, in retrospect, a third Mangini season would've been a hell of a lot easier to stomach than Shurmur's first season ended up being.

Scumbag. Rat. Snitch. Opportunist. Backstabber. Cocksucker. Bastard. Retard. And that's the nicest things I have to say about Mangenius. So he was with the Pats all those years they cheated and said nothing, but only developed a conscience once he got his own head coaching job. If he hadn't been an assistant coach on those NE Super Bowl teams, he probably would have never been noticed so that he would eventually become a head coach. The good part that came out of it is for two years or so, he farked up the Jets. So he has that as a positive.

pro tip: the world is run by cheaters. if you're not one of them, you're going to be used by them. If Bill Belichick got to where he is by cheating, and then when he finally got caught he got slap on the wrist, why the fark wouldn't you do the same?

But that's the culture: The average Browns fan's favorite player is the backup quarterback, and their favorite coach is the next one. And Randy Lerner and every GM and team runner since he inherited the team has tried to please Browns fans rather than winning. These teams are what Browns fans wanted, and 4-12 seasons are their result.

can anyone schedule the Pats and Saints 4 weeks in a row for pre-season? I'm smart enough to not say why that won't happen, or why I would like it too.

Oh no. I see where you're coming from but as a Jets fan I can tell you that you are incorrect. I wouldn't wish a third Mangini season on al Qaeda. Even for a fan base used to disappointment and in particular late-season collapses that year was epic heartbreak. Ryan is surviving last year in part because it wasn't as bad as Mangini's third season. It's much better to just suck and be done with it.

My only Browns jersey is a Tim Couch one from a years ago. i haven't lived in ohio in over a decade, and I may never see the day that the Browns get to the super bowl....BUT...I will always love the Browns and no amount of 4-12 seasons will ever change that.

In my fantasy, before september, the Browns are going 16-0 and winning the SB.

Every year.

I'm pretty sure the Cowboys get a couple asterisks for their drug use/trafficking as well as Jimmy Johnson's alien-technology hairpiece. The Colts get one for defeating a Pop Warner team disguised as the Chicago Bears. The Bears get one for defeating a coked-out Pop Warner team. The Jets get one because fark the Jets.

/And you get an asterisk, and you get an asterisk, and you get an asterisk!!!

Steelers in XL for officiating that embarrassed the NFL offices and even the refs themselves.

Steroid use was not against NFL rules until 1987, so the Steelers did not cheat to win their Super Bowls. You can not judge the past by the rules of today.
