And there goes the last person with any wit from Romney's campaign.

"We are disappointed that Ric decided to resign from the campaign for his own personal reasons. We wanted him to stay because he had superior qualifications for the position he was hired to fill."

it seems to me that he didn't resign over his personal issue... he resigned over the personal issue of other people.

What, exactly, was he expecting?

Who is going to run the Romney campaign? Social conservatives or the other end of the party?

While I welcomed the challenge to confront President Obama's foreign policy failures and weak leadership on the world stage

He killed bin Laden. He got us out of Iraq. Khadafy went without a single American boot on the ground. And Iran and Israel are not at war with each other.

Failures, across the board, as far as the eye can see.

That's the failure the GOP is talking about.

Also, Fartbongo bowed to the Emperor of Japan or something.

I love this line about Grenell from the NRO article TFA references:

If he thinks that the gay-rights agenda doesn't have any bearing on American foreign policy, he's not paying attention.

God, what utter f*cking lunatics these people are.

2012-05-01 05:07:32 PM
The ongoing pressure from social conservatives over his appointment and the reluctance of the Romney campaign to send Grenell out as a spokesman while controversy swirled left Grenell essentially with no job. The Romney camp has not responded to my request for comment.

Nothing like having the troops shooting one of your generals in the back as he's gearing up for the charge.

Well done, social conservatives. Well. Done.

I want to thank Governor Romney for his belief in me and my abilities and his clear message to me that being openly gay was a non-issue for him and his team.

How generous of them to treat you like just another human being.

I've found one NRO hint regarding that particular canard:

And when the Obama State Department is already moving to elevate the gay-rights agenda to a higher plane than religious freedom in the foreign policy of the United States, it is reasonable to wonder whether Grenell, after taking such a prominent place in the Romney campaign's foreign-policy shop, would be in line for an influential State posting where he could pursue his passion for that same agenda.

I'm guessing they think that rather than supporting gay rights resolution passage through the UN we should be rescuing Christians in Egypt or something.

That they hid and excluded from conference calls about foreign policy.

The quote was supposed to read "naan issue", because he was busy eating Indian food instead of attending calls he was definitely invited to.

Man, those people are truly nasty, hateful people, aren't they? He's out of a job because Romney can't lead his way out a paper bag, and suddenly it's all some dark evil pro-gay conspiracy.

You don't need to become a Gay Republican to satisfy your masochistic urges. You probably can find a guy to call you a an abomination for $20 an hour.

Glad to see the GOP isn't giving up on trying to win the "most backward, count-to-potato-retarded party" award instead of letting the Muslim Brotherhood win.

Ahh, the big tent party. The NFL must be jealous of how far and fast the GOP can punt one of their own.

2012-05-01 05:49:39 PM
In the National Review, Matthew J. Franck wrote late last week: "Suppose Barack Obama comes out - as Grenell wishes he would - in favor of same-sex marriage in his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. How fast and how publicly will Richard Grenell decamp from Romney to Obama?"

Listen, dipshiat.

If the gay dude in question hasn't left the GOP after all the shiat they've pulled so far - then he ain't leaving.

2012-05-01 05:51:19 PM
You got what you should have known you'd get, Grenell. That you would shill for a party made up of people who would see homosexuals silenced or dead brings you to this point. I have as much sympathy for this man and his party choice as I would for a black man that joined the KKK and couldn't understand how he got farked over so bad.

Hey, if you hit up evangelical churches, you could probably find a whole host of them who'll do it naked and for free.

I'm not so sure Romney is running against Obama at this point. He still has to defeat his own party.

Let's see what happens when he picks that Messican as VP.

So does this mean that neither gay Republican will vote for Romney?

Any Jew, gay, or gay Jew who supports the Republican must really hate themselves. They are actively supporting an organization that seeks to ensure you or your ilk can never be president.

I bet if Grenell ever did a Costanza and left a briefcase with a tape recorder running after he left the room said tape would contain comments that would make Grenell shiat out his own skeleton.

Hell, he still has to defeat himself.

So Romney is going to pass on an opportunity to put the religious right in its place. I'm shocked.

Mr. Coffee Nerves: I bet if Grenell ever did a Costanza and left a briefcase with a tape recorder running after he left the room said tape would contain comments that would make Grenell shiat out his own skeleton.

I bet the vast majority of the GOP political class could give a flying flip what you stick it in. Because if they actually believed what they preached, a national anti-gay bill would have been a shoe in. The only reason gay marriage hasn't been legitimized is that it is a non-controversial way to appeal to your bigoted base while not offending anyone of any particular political importance.

Dear Gay Friends,

You have no place in the Republican party unless you remain closeted. Like Marcus Bachmann.
