See now? This is why I don't like just tossing people in the clink at the drop of a hat over every little damned thing. He could have been stuffed in there with some violent psychos, beaten to a pulp and possibly raped. If he had a job he probably lost a day of work and made to look like an idiot to his employer.

Over what? A possibly counterfeit bill? And even if it WAS counterfeit how is the average schlub supposed to know the difference. I've had them passed off onto me before and tried to buy stuff without realizing. Should I be thrown in jail for that? Should they not... yanno... investigate a little FIRST.

"The front side of the bill was off center and it didn't feel like a normal bill, it did look to be counterfeit," officer Brock Horner said in his report.

So, does it still look to be counterfeit now that you know it isn't?

turned out to be an old, legitimate bill
old legitimate bills wouldn't "check" with a marker
it was determined as "real but very old"

If only there were a way of enumerating just how "old" it really is...

take the bill to a bank and have it exchanged for a newer one.

Fark that. Either it's legal tender or it's not.

I say use it again, see how many times you can get arrested for the same not-a-crime, and sue their commie asses off.

"And the cop was 'just doing his job', that is arresting people."

You mean being a brain dead neanderthal instead of using some common sense? Or, not giving a shiat about the public he's supposed to be serving, by maybe actually doing little investigating for a change instead of looking for someone to power trip on? Or both......

Canadian $50 bank notes are salmon colour (orange-pink) while American bank notes were once signed by Salmon P. Chase, pictured here on the $1 bill:

Coincidence? Nothing is coincidental! There's no such thing as coincidence! Every synchronicity is the key to a great conspiracy somewhere.

Salmon. P. Chase promoted the idea of the Slave Power Conspiracy before Lincoln.

Chase was one of the most prominent members of the new Republican Party before becoming Chief Justice. Chase articulated the "Slave Power conspiracy" thesis well before Lincoln, devoting his energies to the destruction of what he considered the Slave Power - the conspiracy of Southern slave owners to seize control of the federal government and block the progress of liberty. He coined the slogan of the Free Soil Party, "Free Soil, Free Labor, Free Men."

Today we call the Slave Power Conspiracy "the great Right Wing conspiracy", "the GOP", and the Tea Parties. Like the Bourbons, the Slave Power Conspiracy has forgotten nothing and learned nothing.

They have yet to take over completely the Government of the United States, but sadly they succeeded in taking over the Republican Party in the 1970s, and now control Washington as far as K Street, the Letter M, and the number 13.

Oh, you poor doomed children! Especially if you were raised by the Childrens Television Workshop.

Poor Canada, as Our Lady of Fatima once exclamed. You're next when the USA falls to the SPC.

Even if it were actually fake, that's no reason to believe that he was the one who created the counterfeit. To arrest the guy based on that alone is a massive overreaction.

HotWingConspiracy: After Lorenzo Gaspar was jailed

Yeah, there's you're problem, friend.

I hope Lorenzo reads this thread. If you do, Lorenzo, petition the DA or whatever to get the charge and arrest purged from your record. It was a BS situation, but it is now tattooed on your ass until you get the legal system to remove it.
