What a twat.

2012-05-01 10:43:20 AM
What's the big deal? There's goofy shiat like that on tv all the time.

2012-05-01 11:47:14 AM
ESPN does this every time they interview Tom Brady.

2012-05-01 12:17:57 PM
At least it was a couple chicks hitting on him instead of Jon Gruden, like all the NFL QBs have to deal with.

2012-05-01 12:22:04 PM
Mainstream Media does this every time Obamais in the room.

Cut her slack.

2012-05-01 12:28:22 PM
She made it pretty clear that she was going to hit on him. Bet he got a sammich out of it too.

2012-05-01 12:47:52 PM
I don't really believe in the idea of the "clutch" gene but Freese really exhibited its traits in that WS.

2012-05-01 12:52:26 PM
Intentional silliness sometimes makes good TV. I think it did here anyway.

2012-05-01 12:52:36 PM
How did she not bring up how many cats she has?

/that was actually entertaining and he played it pretty cool.

2012-05-01 12:53:35 PM
He plowed both of them. Hard. Like "they have to sit on a bag of frozen peas the next day" hard.

2012-05-01 12:53:53 PM
I'm sure most sports journalists -- and this excludes self-important blowhards like Mariotti and Bayless -- would agree that their form of journalism is nowhere near as important as the work done by journalists in war zones. That being said, if you're a hard-working, insightful sports journalist, shiat like this must be really hard to swallow.

minoridiot: Intentional silliness sometimes makes good TV. I think it did here anyway.

It was on a show who's intent is to be silly and fluffy. Was it awkward, yes but it works for a show like that.

That said, she's just saying what the female half of Cardinal fans are thinking. Seems like everyone wants to marry David Freese based on the number of signs I've seen saying such.

2012-05-01 01:02:59 PM
Anyone calling this the worst celebrity interview ever clearly never watches local news or morning shows.

Yeah, I doubt Freese can do basic errands on any random day in St Louis without some seriously forward propositions being made by complete strangers.

2012-05-01 01:08:33 PM
I'm sure the University of Missouri's very well-respected journalism department is overjoyed to have produced this jock-sniffer.

2012-05-01 01:10:42 PM
As a professional athlete, I'm sure he gets hit on all the time.

The real question is did he hit it?

Aaaaaand thank you for my new pick-up line.

He's a good looking guy. Odds are high that he's been hit on before.

Of course, being a fat ugly troll, I really wouldn't know.

What's worse, a local reporter flirting with a ballplayer for laughs, or Meredeth Vieira hitting on a Millionaire contestant?

2012-05-01 01:38:14 PM
She TOLD HIM she was going to hit on him the whole time and he was fine.

Piece was actually about the ride opening up.

Lighten up internet. Good lord.

Why would she be upset it's over? Now he's in town for another night for "taping the show" purposes. I do like whoever the person was who came up with the question, after all that flirting, about the wet willie.

2012-05-01 01:48:04 PM
She wants the dynamite to go boom in her.

2012-05-01 01:51:49 PM
I saw this when it was broadcast and I thought that it was a bit over the top, even by Show Me St. Louis standards. I did chuckle a bit though.

/bit of trivia: the thing they're doing with their hands on the ride is their trademark "(channel) 5 (is number) 1" sign that they usually have elementary school kids doing at the end of the show. As far as I know it's not (yet) a gang sign.

How long have they done that? I remember them doing that when I was real young.

It did have a kind of "Today Now" Onion-esque quality to it.

True. It still makes me wonder if the show producers said something along the lines of:

"Our ratings are down so DON'T (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) come on to this Handsome Armed Forces Beefcaketm like you just got out of prison.

She's supposed to be a seasoned professional, not some hormonal schoolgirl.

IMHO

I'm going through a couple of trying health experiences with close family members right now, and I have to say, I'd really like to carry this guy's burden. Here he is, being paid millions to play some children's game, he's good looking, young and in shape, and now he has the trauma of having two hot chicks shamelessly fawn over him and "embarrass" him. What a life this poor guy has. I mean, maybe we should get together some sort of Fark prayer circle or something, maybe send him some canned food donations to get him through this rough patch of having two chicks who, based on their behavior on the video, would go for doing him at the same time. I don't begrudge this guy any of this. He's hopefully in a good place in his life and I'm sure he has things that bother him too and not everything is perfect. The people getting upset over this really, really need something more to do with their. Life must be amazing for most people in St. Louis if this is what is driving viewer anger and responses up there.

What a dumbass... she goes on the interview with the purpose of hitting on the guy, but then proceeds to bring her hot looking, infinitely more hittable friend along.

That only "sorta" works when she's expecting to fail otherwise, and still hopes to slobber his Louisville Slugger after it's already hit a home run inside the cute blonde friend as part of a triple play.

I'm sure I'm a bit older than you, but I can't remember when they started, at least a dozen years ago. Hey, you from St. Charles too? Going to school at Truman State?

Still not as awful or awkward as Joe "Give us a little kiss" Namath and Suzy Kolber.

Judging by how she handled herself on Twitter, it makes me think she did this purely for publicity.

Yep, I just graduated from Truman and now I'm back in St. Charles working. It was nice not being up in Kirksville this past winter freezing my ass off compared to the mild winter here.

It's amazing how many Farkers are from St. Charles.

It's not new, it's been there for a few years.

That's the bigger story to me because everytime I went to Six Flags, the damn thing was always broken down.

That was probably the only day it'll be open this year too.

I never tire of watching people do stupid stuff on game shows. The Wheel of Fortune crackhead one was awesome.

On the complete suck-up & emabarrassment scale. ESPN's preseason interviews of Lebron James couldn't have been any worse if they put Rachel Nichols in a Miami Heat cheerleader outfit.

/I'm not saying that would've necessarily been a bad idea...

I remember one Price is Right contestant who guessed the price of everything was $4.20 when he was in contestant's row.

I think he actually won with that strategy too.

I thought it was just really cute. It was meant to be very lighthearted, flirty, upbeat. And it worked. I was smiling.

I expect so much more from a tiny news station. Particularly if it's so far from where I live I'll never see it. After all baseball is war.
