Years ago, I lived in a tiny town in Castro County, Texas that had similar sales, in a town of 300 people there were 6 liquor stores.The surrounding counties were dry until you hit Lubbock. They sold so much beer that there were 3 semi loads of beer delivered to this little town a week, not including hard liquor sales. When there was a holiday weekend or special event, they brought 5 semi-truck loads of beer that week instead of three.

I was really cool to go into one of the stores and see a giant liquor display, a big tobacco counter, and a section of rifles and ammunition all in the same place!

It actually has to do with cholera. Ya rly. Those who lived close together in cities without access to clean water drank beer. They naturally selected for being able to handle drinking beer.

Those such as Native Americans, who lived spread out and/or figured out early that shiatting in your drinking water is actually a pretty bad idea, didn't need to avoid water. So, no need to naturally select for the ability to drink beer.

Drew, obviously, is descended from the former.

Still, nothing's going to stop this but having people start guarding their own. Posting watch outside the liquor stores, hunting down tribe members who consume, and tracking the paths of the bootleggers and folk who deal under the table.
