You know how I know that Alex Wiles is gay?

2012-05-01 08:33:53 AM
I didn't know this was a common practice in North Carolina, subby.

Only a few more days until I get to vote against that horrible state constitutional amendment, not that it'll make any difference. I'm sure it'll definitely pass in this hick-ass state.

/NC native, still here, unfortunately.

I'm thinking he didn't film himself. Someone else filmed him. Just a guess though, I could be wrong.

I lived in North Carolina for a long summer 20 years ago. I met gay people who were vocal supporters of Jesse Helms. The whole state is full to the brim of retards. (Except Winston-Durham area, the state's only redeeming spot since Fat City in Charlotte closed down).

It was self-defense. He was standing his ground against an aggressive sign.

Look, he's just exercising his 2nd Amendment rights. If you libs think he did a crime here, YOU should go to jail.

Key phrase in his self-satisfied little spew? "near my house."

Winston-Durham? They moved those cities closer together? Weird.

He/she probably meant Winston-Salem. Just a guess. Or maybe Winston / Durham?

2nd amendment solution to 1st amendment problem? GENIUS!!!!

I feel for my family living in Chapel Hill. They're doing what they can against this amendment...

/... Of course, I now live in Virginia, with Governor 'Confederacy Remembrance month!' McDonnel...

Does anyone know how this bill is faring? It's sad to think, but I'm assuming it'll pass simply because it's North Carolina.

2012-05-01 11:33:29 AM
I hope 4chan and /b/ dox him. I need the lulz

2012-05-01 11:34:20 AM
That's sad. Back in the good old days, we used to just piss on the signs...after getting drunk of course! I that is considered free speech, right?

It won't pass don't worry.

The most shameful thing about this amendment is how they tried to sneak it on the ballot for May 8th when they thought it was just going to be a Republican Primary, and therefore low turnout overall, but high conservative turnout.

GAT_00: Look, he's just exercising his 2nd Amendment rights. If you libs think he did a crime here, YOU should go to jail.

He's just joking. Why can't you libs take a joke? It's just a man with his gun, shooting it in a humorous manner. I swear, people can't even discharge firearms now without libs taking offense.

2012-05-01 11:36:01 AM
I apologzie for the amendment. I didn't bring it up nor do I plan to vote for it.

Again I apologize to all of you.

Well, the other problem is that NC lets you put state amendments on primary ballots (IIRC?)

thankfully, now that Romney is the anointed one, there will hopefully be *less* turnout for the republican primary, but I too fear it shall pass.

2012-05-01 11:36:28 AM
For the record, was this reported to the police?

2012-05-01 11:36:52 AM
Also, early voting has started.

If you are a North Carolinian and have the time BEFORE May 8th, go vote.

Yay Chapel Hill. Grew up there, and love the town. It's weird, it has an almost small-town feel (no concrete jungle feel), but it's still pretty big...

No, it's perfect for my purposes. Do you find this to be a responsible use of firearms?

2012-05-01 11:38:49 AM
The GOP's Big Tent apparently has Saudi-esque morality police outside the door with small arms ready to shoot at anything that doesn't look white, straight, male, rich and Christian (prosperity gospel heretics only please).

Just when you think they've painted themselves into the tiniest corner possible they pull shiat like this.

*looks around*

Hey, where are the usual suspects to cry about how teh evil libs all wanna take this jackhole's 1st Amendment rights away?

I live here in Raleigh; the latest news I've heard still shows that support for this stupid amendment is greater than the opposition, but the percentages are closing up rapidly. Opposition against the amendment appears to be concentrated in the cities, with much higher support in the small town/rural areas.

The news story a day or so ago pointing out that people who don't think analytically tend to believe in religion appear to be taking place on this issue as well. The ones I've heard supporting it aren't high on the "think for myself" gauge...

Absolutely not. But for every dickhead like this, there are thousands of us who will never do such a thing....but then again, we don't make the news for being normal and obeying the law.

I live in NC. It's a horrible bill. A huge state amendment and it's being voted on in a primary in May? I mean way to try to sneak this shiat into the constitution. And yes we have the Democrats to thank for that.

Good for bigots - bad for business. If it passes, I fully expect the law to be challenged in the courts.

I'm really tired of people trying to destroy my country and my state.

Yeah, they're effort to put it on a primary vote really pissed me off, as if no one would see through such a underhanded tactic.

I'm pessimistic, especially given how much I know my home state. They're are hicks here. Lots and lots of them. And in EVERY state where a state constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman, it has managed to pass. If it passed in California, I can't imagine NC has much hope.

:/

Yes, someone else filmed him, and he identifies himself and the cameraman by name on the video. Looks like he was in his own backyard, but that still won't change the fact that he is shooting on land that contains a house, which makes it illegal 'round them parts.

Trust me, I understand your skepticism. I guess I'm trying to stay positive this close to the final voting date. It is very hard for me to gauge the support this really has.

Pretty much everyone outside of those areas are mouth-breathing troglodytes though.

Reading that at first I was thinking the person doing the shooting was for gay rights and the signage was against it. But then after reading it further what you would expect was actually happening.

Sorry, I shouldn't dampen your optimism. I'm a gloomy Gus kinda guy. I'm sure I'm lots of fun at parties.

The bottom line is still that he shot at a sign. Not a person. If he had used some other weapon on the sign it wouldn't have even made the local news. This is just a made up controversy by the left.

/supports gay marriage, and gun rights.

This guy could be NC's answer to Joe the Plumber.

An icon right up there with Mama Grizzly, Sheriff Joe, Ollie North and the almost canonized Zombie Breitbart.
