I agree, dude. Those damn homosexuals wanting to get married has made it impossible for me to get married myself. I was just saying to my girlfriend last night, "Sweetie muffin honey doll, I would buy you a ring and marry you, but I can't."
And she said "Why can't we get married? Does your father not approve of me?"
I said: "No, my whole family loves you."
She said: "Then is it because we don't have enough money?"
I said: "No, that's not the problem."
She said: "Well what is it then? Why can't we get married?"
I said: "The gays! Don't you see?! The gays want to get married, and they're ending marriage as we know it!"

It was very sad, and like you, I am absolutely furious that these gays are making it impossible for me to get married. It is such an intrusion on my life when people want to be treated fairly and equally!

Savage's only mistake was choice of language here.

People who are pissed they aren't going to be able to discriminate with societal approval any longer are bad people who need to be shamed into acting like civilized human beings.

I don't think that Savage went far enough. I think that people need to refer to the Bible and christianity as "bullshiat" often and its adherents need to be made to feel like the gullible, weak-minded, superstitious fools that they are.

The war on women, the fight for equality and civil rights, keeping christian mythology out of science classrooms, individual liberty...it all goes back to the Bible and faith-over-reason.

I'm pretty liberal, and I intensely dislike Dan Savage. He is definitely a smug asshole. The Santorum thing was pretty funny because Frothy is also an asshole and his brand of social conservatism is pretty vile, but Savage's brand of gay activism seems to rely more on shock factor over smarts, or heart.
