The Republicans should just go with "Kony 2012!".

He has a major social presence. He is a religious man who believes in putting kids to work and is a strong supporter of the miitary. He has some of the same ideas a Newt Gingrich without some of Newt's negatives.

Why should the Dems be the only ones who can elect a black African for President? At least this guy is a Christian!

I'm only about half-way through the comments in this thread, so forgive me if this has been said already, but Marie Osmond says 'I'd rather have food poisoning' than endorse Obama or Romney'

I sound fat: yeah, those devestating economic policies that had lower unemployment and lower energy costs, back when I had disposable income to, ya know, go buy things and do things.

demaL-demaL-yeH: He is an asshole and a troll, though.

Well f*ck you too.

And when did I ever say that Wright should not be allowed to say those things?

The Why Not Guy: Any American is free to express their opinion, regardless of whether you happen to agree or not, and you're free to respond.

Very true. I didn't mean "free pass" as in "the government should do something about it". I meant it in the context that people were getting their panties in a bunch in this thread because I called him out on those words.

adamgreeney: SkinnyHead: GleeUnit: SkinnyHead: When times are tough, people want a real president, not a "Preezy of the United Steezy."

Ah, that didn't take long. Zero to blatant racism in only seven posts! That's impressive even for you, Skinny!

Didn't say anything about race, Glee. That's your hang up.

Then what is "Preezy of the United Steezy" if not a blatant crack about racial dialect? Seriously.

A blatant crack at this shiatty bit that Jimmy Fallon's team of "writers" cooked up?

I'm with Skinny on this one, sort of... ugh... not really, but the bit was crap, and while Obama was pretty 'cool' in it... it was pointless campaign fodder. A la Clinton playing sax.

The main takeaway for me is that I CAN'T BELIEVE WE'RE STILL FARKING TALKING ABOUT A JIMMY FALLON BIT.

I never thought I would defend Marie Osmond on the internet, but that isn't what she said at all.

slotz: VJStinger: Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf: I'm really starting to wonder if Fark's users and moderators are politically biased. There's more posts criticizing or making fun of Republicans and conservative values than there is posts criticizing or making fun of Democrats and liberal values. There's also the users with liberal values that are OK with trashing Republicans and conservative values, but when a user with conservative values is trashing Democrats and liberal values, users with liberal values see that criticism as being misguided, false, over something that doesn't matter or there's something else wrong with it.

Oh, poor you. Well, maybe, perhaps did it ever occur to you that the Conservative mindset is completely wrong? No, of course not. There are plenty of conservatives on this site that would disagree with you. There are plenty of sane people in this world that vehemently disagree with what you and your ilk portend. You have no place in the modern world. Feel free to FOAD.

-Love,

The Modern World

Conservative = insane? Hyperbole much? You ARE the problem.

Hyperbole? No, not by a long shot. Although, I admit, I should have put Conservative in parenthesis because there is nothing even remotely "Conservative" about today's American right wing. But I'm the problem, huh? Why don't you go dust off your brain and give it a little workout and look at whats going on before you go accusing someone else of being the problem, Slapnuts.

Gyrfalcon: Can I pick a fight with him for being a pretentious asshole? I've done it before around here, without being smitten from above by anyone's God, so I know "The Name" isn't that upset with me. Also, it's useful for dealing with pretentious asshole trolls.

Well f*ck you too, little lady.

I blame Obama. He did it to distract from real issues, and get a 'cool' boost, too.

The_Sponge: Very true. I didn't mean "free pass" as in "the government should do something about it". I meant it in the context that people were getting their panties in a bunch in this thread because I called him out on those words.

I'm only speaking for myself here, but the "problem" is that you seemed to be calling him out for speaking his mind rather than explaining why what he said is wrong. I realize the phrase "God Damn America" is provocative. But in the overall context of his message - America can do better, and we should be doing better - it makes perfect sense, and as a gay man currently enjoying second class citizen status in this wonderful country of ours, I happen to agree 100% - we can do better. We should be doing better.

This is a bit off topic, but I always say (well, not always, but I say it a lot) our friends on the Right love to tell God to bless America but they're not as good at giving Him a reason to want to. It sees to me that telling God to bless America is every bit as presumptuous as telling him to damn it. How about we all do our best and hope it's pleasing to Him?

I think I finally understand it.

They don't hate him because he's black, or because he's a democrat, or because he's a liberal.

They're just jealous.

The Why Not Guy: I meant it in the context that people were getting their panties in a bunch in this thread because I called him out on those words.

And I forgot the other main point. Wright's military service doesn't make him any more or less qualified to speak his mind. That's a right every American has. But you're going to have a tougher time selling your "he hates America" narrative about a man who has a military record and an honorable discharge. There are exceptions, of course, but military service usually carries a base level of patriotism with it.

I sound fat: Lenny_da_Hog: slotz: YOU are the authority on what a Republican is?

I just assume they're telling the truth!

They've stated their entire policy on two statements:

a.) They will roll back Obama actions.
b.) They will return us to the devastating economic policies of the Bush Administration.

If you know of anything else the party says it's going to do, let me know.

yeah, those devestating economic policies that had lower unemployment and lower energy costs, back when I had disposable income to, ya know, go buy things and do things.

Those were horrible times compared to now, huh?

/stop blaming bush, its 3.5 years later. I *HATED* Bush, he was the worst excuse for a republican ive ever seen, but you cant blame him for this anymore.

In other words, you fail the challenge as well.

You can't name a single policy that doesn't revert to Bush.

Bush was a great Republican, obviously, because the RNC says they're going to do exactly what he did, which, I don't know if you noticed or not, destroyed the country for the rest of us.

2012-05-01 02:07:19 PM

Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf: Do any of you have anything to say disputing what I said that's a logical, reasonable argument or just insults?

What you said was a spam attacking the Fark staff. What's there to dispute?

OMG! Fark hates me!

It's just persecution complex.

I hate to agree with Skinny head in any way but he is right.

Jimmy Fallon isn't very funny.

2012-05-02 04:09:32 PM

AdolfOliverPanties: Not to defend SkinnyHead, but I think Preezy of the United Steezy is a reference to the slow jam bit Obama did with Jimmy Fallon.

Skinny is used to a president that can't eat a pretzel and breathe at the same time, so it perplexes him that Obama can go on a TV show and still do his job.

It's as if Obama can do different things at different times. You know, like there's a specific part of the day he's got scheduled for working, and another part for other stuff.

Crazy.

You go from non sequitur to ad hominem so fast, it's hard to clock your butthurt. But here, I'll try to respond:

I do know what's going on. With you: Your reactionary tendencies make it all too clear that 1) you are a baby; and, 2) you are an ass. As to what's going on politically, I know you're a baby and an ass. How's that for non sequitur?

Ad hominem: Slapnuts! That's funny. But let's leave my sex life out of it. You know me not, sir. Grow up, you inarticulate, oversensitive closet case. Try thinking an independent thought. It might hurt at first. Lay off the soy lattes and maybe your boys will drop.

/For the record, I define my politics issue by issue, and do not subscribe to any of the predigested platforms. You hold your nose and vote the issues that matter to you.
