If the entire purpose of this "Twitchy" web site to whine about how random tweets by celebrities/athletes/politicians evince liberal politics?

This may be the lowest form of political blogging ever conceived in the history of the universe.

I think it's relatively new. It also gets used whenever the GOP wants to try to start a media campaign.

But Twitter is a corporation and therefore has certain inalienable human rights. Conservatives wouldn't want the nanny state government to control Twitter, would they? That would mean conservatives are just being big whiny hypocritical douchebags.

Knowing a little bit about the tweets, I'd bet he trolled enough lefty tweeters and they did the logical thing, reported him for spam. Do the crime, do the time. Only he seems to think its one-sided, when I assure you the twit-verse is more like a 4ch-lite than any sort of well thought out reasonable exchange of anything.

So say the libby tweeters all follow hashtag #FoxNewsSucks

Then ol genius boy here thinks, I know, I'll get them all and show my wife what a hero internet man I am, I'll tweet .. wait for it ... I'll tweet conservative comments at #FoxNewsSucks !!!!

Then he manfully does so and his wife's mildly amused and actually sleeps with him for the first time this month, taking valuable time out from her ongoing dialogs with Rush, Hannity and that guy that works for Romney who owns the yacht ... 5 mins max.

Only things don't go as planned. Much to our conservative tweeters dismay, if you fling poo at thousands who already think you're full of crap, they will respond in kind -- by reporting you for spamming.

Twitter, who has underpaid overworked abuse desk people working in Morocco or India for $1 an hour, are more than happy to lay down the banhammer on some foolio making them work.

And the rest would have been history, except this punk's sexual survival depends on him spraying his unwanted messages around the internet, in no way at all mimicking any sort of relationship dynamic with his wife, who is by more accounts a more successful and more well paid "conservative pundit from the internet."

And thus we get today's spew. I counted four submissions of this guy to TF inside of an hour. All the same thing, all "wah, I got curb-stomped by the lefties I picked a fight with on tweeter, now my dicks gonna stay dry with my wife, wah"

And now you know, as Paul Harvey used to say .. The *Rest* of the story.

saying it is one thing, actively and deliberately getting someone censored is another

if they want to rely to the guy and call him names, fine. If they want to repost what he says and call him a moron, fine.

But falsely claiming he is spam to get him shut down is going over a line. If it causes him any monetary loss (unlikely) it could even be actionable.

But falsely claiming he is spam to get him shut down is going over a line. If it causes him any monetary loss (unlikely) it could even be actionable.

Is there any evidence that LIBRULZ falsely claimed that this guy is a spammer? Any at all?

What if the conservative activist is lying in his twitter account?

He wasn't. That's the thing about Twitter - all of the posts are right out there for everyone to see. You can go back and see that his posts were pretty mild, each time he gets reinstated. That's one way you can tell he wasn't lying: Twitter admins can go back and look at old posts - even deleted ones.

On the other hand, the lefties who were getting him banned were also pretty forthright about their actions. For example, one of the complaining accounts had zero followers, was following only this one guy - and bragged about it in that Twitter feed. Yep - they've been making up brand new accounts just to get people they disagree with banned. And they're dumb enough to admit it, on Twitter.

They've also been doing it with a number of other right-wingers, and were successful in censoring a dozen or so Twitter users who had the audacity of saying something they couldn't counter.

A couple of the lefties have already had their accounts banned by Twitter admins for their actions, and it looks like a lot more will in the near future. You see, that flagging action is also a permanent record, and it's easy enough for Twitter admins to look at the offending accounts and see that the original complaint was unfounded.

The actual question was this: "Has the Earth warmed significantly since the Little Ice Age?"

When they added the qualifier "did humans contribute to that warming to a significant degree," the number drops into the 70% range. When they restrict the question to things like "humans are causing uncontrollable anthropogenic global warming," they get a helluva lot of "I don't knows."

Holy balls. Over the past 3.5 years I've watched the right wing grow increasingly paranoid, make less and less sense, and grasp more and more desperately at anything they can get their hands on. Every step of the way has become more and more pitiful. Every step of the way I think "Wow, they've gone full retard. I can't imagine how they can get any more insane." Then, like clockwork, they show me that there's still an even lower rung they can stand on. This is just amazing.

CSB: The other day I was driving through Appalachia on business. I saw a billboard for a right-wing radio station and turned it on for the lulz. I couldn't even laugh. When I turned it on the guy was talking about how jury duty is communism and that to allow yourself to be on a jury is supporting terrorism. WTF? It's wasn't even coherent. In one sentence the guy used all the following words: leftist, liberal, socialism, communism, fascist, and Marxist. Again, that was all in one sentence.

This wasn't even close to political discourse; it was mental illness. This guy's rambling had many signs of schizophrenia. It had clanging, looseness of association, nonsensical logic, word salad, severe anxiety, hypersensitivity to criticism (he had a caller question his logic and he flew off the handle), delusions of grandeur (he stated that he was on a mission to save America from the socialists), thought blocking (he stopped mid-sentence at least 4 times and couldn't finish the sentence during the 5 minutes I listened). I'm sure there were more, but I'm not a psychiatrist.

I read this, and ostensibly it is in english. But then the meaning either slips away or was never there to begin with so I read it again, and again, and again. And each time the meaning seems further away, like the memory of a dream that only fades faster the more you try to recall what it was about. And I wonder, did a human being really write this? Or was it a robot, programmed in a form of call and response, endlessly repeating the same meaningless phrases towards some end that not even its designer can now recall? Is this what we've become? An army of twits echoing each other through programmed response, devoid of meaning, bereft of thought? It doesn't speak well for our future when our present sets itself on a race to the bottom, picking as the winner the one who can most stupify their thoughts to the formula prescribed to the masses.

C'mon. Fark is a "discussion" with "amusing" "pictures". Twitter is standing on a rooftop shouting at the top of your lungs.

Exactly. 140 characters is not enough to develop an argument with facts. You can make some bold statements but they could be completely bullshiat. Twitter is seriously the worst thing ever.

Seriously, if you stripped out quoted text, I bet 90% or more of Fark posts fit in the 140-character limit, and there sure as hell isn't any less ignorance, self-importance, or painful unfunniness on Fark than on Twitter. What I am saying is, both Fark and Twitter are dumb, and if you post on one while crying about the other, well...

Maybe it's the bulletin-board nature of Fark versus the broadcast nature of Twitter. The character count just serves to make some tweets just painful to read.

Which are presumably 1 or 2-liners responding to other posts and not actual proclamations, NTTAWWT. But you see my point about your calculation there.

Plus, you have the troll factor. Many posters are trolls. It would defeat the purpose of troll vanquishing to write a treatise on how they are a troll and should kill themselves.

In summation, you might be right, but not for the reasons you think you are.

Don't Troll Me Bro!: This wasn't even close to political discourse; it was mental illness.

Had to look that one up. Thanks for the prompt to learn something new.

qorkfiend: Maybe it's the bulletin-board nature of Fark versus the broadcast nature of Twitter. The character count just serves to make some tweets just painful to read.

The flip side of that is on Twitter, you literally only have to read things from people you are interested in, rather then being inundated by for example threadshiatting trolls and terrible Fark memes. For example, the only tweets I read are Colbert and Nate Silver.

There are many differences between Fark and Twitter, and anyone who uses either while deriding the other is not only wrong, but wrong in a uniquely unselfaware way.

Troll "vanquishing" is probably the worst part of Fark in fact. Like the fact that someone actually just typed those two words next to each other in earnest.

Not entirely true. The tweets that come to you are limited to your subscriptions but if you're using a hashtag to follow a topic, someone can easily spam up that hashtag with unrelated information. I suspect that is what happened: some woman's hubby tried to score some points with the missus by trolling up twitter using hashtags unrelated to what he was saying to get a broader exposure for his tweets. It would be like me including the top trending hashtag in a tweet about how great my brother's rib shack is.

Yeah, not in the slightest. They all have their highlights and lowlights. Twitter: cogent thoughts are ass farked by character limits. Fark: cogent thoughts are muddled in the quoted text, sodomized by trolls. Neither will make the annals of history. Maybe the anals though.

I'm sure there are a lot of angry people with no particular qualifications that are looking to bootstrap themselves up to "right wing media personality" status since you so obviously don't need to know what the fark you're talking about, don't need to edit or fact check, and it's so obviously lucrative once you reach a certain level. I've seen a number of people revitalize or essentially invent their careers solely through self promotion over the past few years. Once you hit a critical number of eyes it feeds on itself.

TimSTP: "Lessons in Lying from Dana Loesch," a very illuminating piece by a woman who was harassed, intimidated and stalked by Loesch on Twitter last week.

Dana Loesch has the quintessential right-wing authoritarian posting style. They're insufferable with their self-centered delusions of grandeur. 3 posts in a minute demanding an immediate answer, only to declare they're opponent scared when said answer doesn't appear.

/This is the second story from Twitchy I've read and it'll likely be the last.
