(NYPost)   NYC's Freedom Tower - which will surpass the height of the Empire State Building today - is not even finished yet and it's already at war with another NYC building. You know what happened last time a couple of buildings went to war?   (nypost.com) divider line 135

I hate that name, so much, 'Freedom Tower.' It's ridiculous. There, I said it. It's a huge phallic shaped piece of propaganda being named something like that.

They should have just made it a park or a nice monument on the site. Bad juju to be building a place of commerce there.

I'm just saying, I have no personal stake, frankly I despise NYC and everybody who lives there. They can build a 90 foot cement cock and balls there for all I care.

I've heard it referred to as that, but didn't know which was the official title, and which was the nickname.

Hey...the WAR went to the BUILDINGS. And they did pretty well for themselves in spite of the final result.

I'm one of those who thinks that they should have put up the same number of towers that fell that day, minus all the asbestos of course, per the original set of drawings.

Partially this (but less harsh), but I completely lost interest when they rejected Trump's plan: rebuild the twin towers, one story higher. In the words of Neil Simon, "New York is not Mecca. It just smells like it."

The New York Post in this very link just called it the Freedom Tower in the headline, so relax.

They named it Freedom Tower so when it gets knocked down they can literally say that Freedom was lost that day. It's only a matter of time.

It's no different than doing things in the name of Jesus and fulling getting away with it because it's Jesus.

This is the Freedom Tower. Because, America is all free and shiat.

Theres more money to be had in a construction site for the people invested in it. Shuffling the paperwork for the site has become an industry in and of itself. Its to the benefit of all involved that they drag it out as long as possible and keep their jobs rather than build it and lose them.

I wished they chose a more exciting design. Weren't there a few other submissions from major architectural firms? I think the one we ended up with is the most conservative one of all!

Some countries are building really nice futuristic looking buildings and we are building one that wouldn't look any different if it was built in the 1960s.

I don't know really. So the street is World Trade Center Drive or something? And the supposed goal of the Illuminati is alleged to mastermind events and control world affairs through governments and corporations to establish a New World Order. It just sounds so cheesy, one world....like Bob Marley should be on the side. This is America. We hate each other. Now I'm trollin'.

I know you're only trollin'... but yeah, there is no Freedom Tower at all - the media just keeps being clueless. It is simply "One World Trade Center" now. Period.

Freedom Tower was the working name initially but does not exist in any form now. Actually I think the original name on the blue print was "The Fark Your Terrorists, America Wins Again Tower", but it was quickly changed to the Freedom Tower...

weren't they contemplating building two towers on the same footprint but couldn't get enough leasing interest to justify that much square footage?
