if Derrick Rose had worn Nike's instead of Adidas, his career would not have been injury-plagued.

Meh, clearly tongue-in-cheek. A lot of people on Twitter need to get a life.

/prefer adidas shoes for basketball
//don't really worry about coming down on things that could twist my knee, due to my 1/8" vertical

2012-04-30 09:26:33 AM
And if joggers ran barefoot, they wouldn't have knee injuries. Thanks for the injuries, Nike!

"Just to set the record straight- if you ain't with me you against me, and if that's the case I don't give a F about you!"

Because working for a shoe company is that damn important. It's life or death.

Another example of why an IQ test should be required before you get a Twitter account.

I really feel for the Bulls (as much as I hate them).

So if Adidas shoes make you tear your ACL, does this mean Nikes cause you to disappear in the fourth quarter of crucial games?

exploding pork: So if Adidas shoes make you tear your ACL, does this mean Nikes cause you to disappear in the fourth quarter of crucial games?

They also cause any games in which you do not disappear in the fourth quarter to retroactively become non-crucial. They actively troll the player. The worst shoes.

He shouldn't be fired for the thought process. But, he should be fired for using stupid nicknames, talking like a 12 year old, and using hash tags.

He shouldn't have been in trouble for what he first said (awkward to avoid tripping the filter), but the stupid sh*t he said the next day merits it.

As a Purdue fan (school sponsored by Nike) I can tell you that ACL injuries were pretty common -

2 Potential Final Four seasons lost (Robbie Huumel 2 ACL Injuries)
Also in the past year we lost a QB, starting RB and WR all within a few games.

I hate Lebron James, but I feel bad for him that he gets dragged into stupid crap like this. His shoe designer? How is he even involved? If you can't sell a story without name dropping, it isn't a story worth telling. But fark ESPN per usual.

Read the third paragraph of the article and you'll see that it was the dumbass shoe designer who brought James into the conversation.

Wait, I know Hummel just straight farking torched Kansas, but wasn't that his career high?

FWIW I have never felt worse for an opposing player after a win. That dude couldn't have done anything more.

I enjoy shadenfreude as much as anyone but wearing a competing company's shoes isn't a good enough reason to wish ill will on someone.

Now, if Rose had pulled a Delonte on this guy, then I could buy it.

He had 35 in a loss to OSU in the first ACL injury season. Hit 8 threes in the first half. A very similar game to the KU one in many ways.

Would be Heisman Winner a few years back, Dennis Dixon, would like a word with this guy. As would all the other Oregon players who have torn ACLs over the last few years...wearing Nike.

I think the real issue here is that Twitter has allowed the person who designs shoes for a living to have enough of a following for his comment to matter.

Have you ever tried to post something on twitter? There aren't enough characters to get two sentences out in normal English. You are forced to become a retarded hip hop star just to get a message out from that site.

Fair enough, but one can be concise without the ridiculous shorthand and unauthentic street cred posturing.

It amazes me how many people think that freedom of speech means freedom from consequences. Don't say stupid shiat on Twitter/Facebook that reflects on or involves your employer. Pretty simple.

I was watching the video over and over, and to see his knee explode like that as he went to the air, I felt bad for him.

He's gonna have to change his style of play or else he won't last long in the league.

Now the Nike sales pitch was lame, but when you figure Dwight Howard is hurt, and he wears Adidas as well...makes you wonder just a little bit.

Could this Nike turd be right? Not that Nike is the solution, but that Adidas is the------------ Oh, I'm just kidding. It's just the fact that THERE ARE INJURIES IN SPORTS.

In the two seasons prior to this past one Purdue had Hummel with Moore and J.Johnson - they were winning the Big10 in what was their Junior seasons when Robbie went down in a game at Minn - I think they were top10 at the time - it was late in the season and the wind kind of went out of the team.

The next season (what would have been all 3 of their Senior seasons) they started out ranked top 4, Hummel blew out his knee the first practice and the team came together, but was not the same without Robbie and they again missed the Final 4.

Thing to note - every team they lost to in the tourney while Robbie, Moore and JJ were there ended up in the Final4

ESPN was even a little behind on the story, but they were the first ones to drop Lebron's name into the headline.

i don't like the Bulls, but something like that shouldn't be mocked... Not because of karma, but just in interest of competition, its not good for the game.... I honestly would not wish injury even to the rival of the team i root for. Not even to Ben Rothlisberger.

Those teams, even though they are my enemy, they still have fans... Had i grown up in a location 100 miles in a different direction, i could easily be one of them.

An IQ test is required. If you pass, you get a Zombo.com account. That's where us brainiacs congregate, and discuss things only in 600 characters or more. If you fail the test, welcome to Twitter!

I was at the game, about 100 feet away from where he hit the floor (club level, baby). You wouldn't believe the groan that swept over the crowd, all at once.

my issue is the cost - I am sure the D Rose playoff outfit would retail a bit more than what is listed - and I hate getting the knockoff - I want authentic
