He's outdoing the other guy because Romney's not really trying to fund raise. 1. Romney's rich and 2.and he's got far more anonymous super packs to raise the money for him.

So now the complaint is Obama is working too hard?

Why can't you be richer Obama! Take more vacations! Bush hardly worked at all when he was president!

2012-04-29 10:02:38 PM
Unhip1: Maybe the fact he has a ton o money in the warchest already also speaks to why his fundraising isn't criticized much.

Good thing that's a news article, rather than just an opinion piece expressed as news.
Right, subby?

It's neither. It's a book advertisement.

FTFA: The figures, contained a in a new book called The Rise of the President's Permanent Campaign by Brendan J. Doherty, due to be published by University Press of Kansas in July, give statistical backing to the notion that Obama is more preoccupied with being re-elected than any other commander-in-chief of modern times.

Apparently the author is a professor of political science at the Naval Academy.

I find this interesting, seeing as how that Teatard was recently dismissed from the Marines for statements critical of the Commander in Chief. I'm not about to suggest like certain Conservatives that professors at ANY school be given an ideological purity test, but I do find this fact interesting.

I much prefer to see fundraising events than SuperPACs; at least Obama's earning his money.

SuperPACs make a mockery of democracy.

Okay, okay, they have a LOT of weapons. Therefore, Obama really does need the extra "fundraising".

/I love how they're taking him to task for actually talking to and visiting with the American people. Would that other Presidents had done the same more often.

/love the smell of Teabagger desperation. Bringing up something Obama did when he was *six*? Why don't they just shout 'We've got FARKING NOTHING' from the rooftops?

You could tell that when you looked at the GOP primary field.

Between George W's dumb friend, Batshiat McCrazyeyes, Moonbase Adultery Fatass, Nine Nine Noid, and a guy so deep in the closet that R. Kelly goes to him when he has writer's block, they didn't exactly field the best and brightest.

It is funny now to watch them all trying to claim they were Rmoney supporters from the beginning.

Doesn't mean he won't try. BushCo outsourced a good part of the military, which is almost a third of the budget, and the Republicans are already working on Medicare vouchers and Privatizing Social Security, not to mention "school vouchers" for private schools. If those three pass, then we're pretty much outsourcing more than we're doing ourselves, with every single business owner with a government contract taking a significant percentage of the money as "profit" and adding absolutely NOTHING to the services they are providing.

I remember criticisms about tax cuts, the two wars, torture, and warrantless wiretapping, but not a whole lot about the economy until late 2008. According to Republicans, Obama's time machine caused the recession.

Seems you might have caught up on nap time during American Government. Especially if you think that tax cuts, regulation of the financial markets, huge no-bid contracts amounting to a piece of GDP to the left of the decimal, and investigations/prosecutions (or lack thereof) of financial impropriety by the DOJ don't have an effect of the economy.

Not to mention war. War definitely doesn't have any effect on the economy, does it?

And look at Obama- he tanked the global economy months before he was even elected president. That's power!

all of those have an effect, yes...but not a direct one. that's the job of the Federal Reserve. in fact, much of what you mentioned (save declaring war) isn't the President's job either. tax cuts, regulation of financial markets, no-bid contracts...all that is either the job of the Fed Reserve and/or congress. other agencies can (and do) get involved...but congress is supposed to sort out any conflicts of interests. oversight of various federal regulatory agencies is supposedly their job after all...but meh. they'd rather just let the President take the fall.
