Eh... overproduced nonsense. Too many different aliens, cheap celebrity stunt casting and way too much CGI. The "Avatar" of the Aliens franchise. It'll suck.

modrogon: FeedTheCollapse: I can't think of any movie that I've watched each and every trailer for. This better not suck.

Old movie years ago... best line was in the trailer. The movie sucked but it had it's moments.....

And the line: Now that's a real shame when folks be throwin' away a perfectly good white boy like that.

So...you want your two dollars back? ;-)

Rincewind53: B.L.Z. Bub: Well, I'm going to be the odd one out here. That trailer hardly had any monsters, and the ones it did have got lost in all the "blink or you'll miss it" crap that these ADD-inspired previews are full of. To me it was just a bunch of quick cut action shots with overly-dramatic titles sprinkled in ("THEY WENT SEARCHING...FOR OUR BEGINNING"). For all I know, the movie could be great, but that trailer does nothing to impress me.

That's actually why I like these trailers. They pique the interest, and don't show every damn thing that's going to happen in the movie.

What do you mean the trailers don't show you Everything in the damn movie?

The synopsis presented in the trailer is that ultimately the alien ship will attempt to leave the planet and if they are successful the human race is doomed.

And then, in that same trailer, they show the alien ship in flames and pieces falling back down to the planet.

/facepalm

//facepalm is for retarded trailer

Bahhh not more of the Ridley Scott stuff. Give the franchise to Tim Burton and see what he can make of it.

To Wong Fu did this first and better and at a cheaper price point.

In my opinion, the trailer did give away the movie from start to finish. I should have avoided all these trailers. I was really excited before. Imagining what this movie would be, kind of like a kid. I even wanted to go opening night, see the imax, have a fun night. Now, I'll probably sit around on my lazy a$$ and wait on the blu-ray...

And by the way. Aliens was the only Alien movie that was Awesome. I still can't get enough of Aliens, it was a total masterpiece! But besides introducing us to super cool chest bursting, IMO the original Alien movie was sort of a ho-hum slasher film to me.

Jaws_Victim: Is anyone hoping for SIgourney Weaver to make a cameo? She still looks great and I'd love to see her on the Nostromo years later as they slowly glide to the planet.

Only if it's from the same crotchal angle as when she was getting into the space suit in Alien. That scene gave me a puberty.

Satanic_Hamster: LeroyBourne: You don't know that, you can clearly see a humanoid/xenomorgh running, is that the space cowboy? Who knows, the only thing I know is RS will entertain us nonetheless with what I'm most curious about, the space cowboy.

What a space cowboy might look like:

"First, there are no cows in space...."

Despite Ridley Scott's involvement, put me in the 'overproduced crap' camp
on this one. The original ALIEN worked because it was self contained in
every sense: the setting was claustrophobic and small scale, and only
referred to things from outside the plot that moved the plot itself forward.

This is far too epic seeming.

Hate to break up your little nerd love fest, but Weekend at Bernies did this first, and did it without 100 million in CGI.

Scott has already gone on record as saying this is not planet LV-426.

They are hoping to make a trilogy with this...

Of course they are. To be honest, with how popular hollywood is with beating dead horses, I'm a little surprised Titanic wasn't a trilogy.

Well at least you're giving it a chance. Way to be open minded! However, you may be right. What has Ridley Scott ever done anyway? Mostly shiate.

Yeah, but why...? Makes no sense from them to invade/wipe out a planet they already visited when it was less advanced and easier to kill. Unless the pictograms were meant as a warning by some OTHER aliens NOT to go to that planet. They should have been more clear.

A Sentinel? Once a race is advanced enough to find its way to the planet using the clues... they're a potential threat. As opposed to a bunch of tuber-eating baboons who aren't really worth wiping out. But I don't think that's the plot here.
