theurge14: Kell Bartok: And what exactly has Woz done in the last 20 years besides give interviews and eat cake?

How is that a bad thing? He's living the American Dream every weekend at Outback Steakhouse.

Yeah. I mean, there's a certain range of net worth and lifetime achievement where it's okay to make fun of a guy for his weight. Wozniak, on the other hand, is one of the fathers of the personal computer, has a few billion in the bank, and won an Atari competition to reduce the number of ICs on the board by proposing a design so small and tight, the production lines of the time couldn't replicate it. So yeah, he's fat, but it's only because the average human build couldn't contain the amount of awesome he possesses. Bill Gates might be King of the Nerds, but Woz is the King of the Hackers.

Kar98: 2wolves: Tourney3p0: There are a lot of people who seem very defensive about how their phone defines them.

Or their OS, or their beer, or their... stuff. Not character, not actual accomplishments, but their stuff. Most of it highly disposable stuff.

Well, there seem to be a lot of people who feel very aggressive about OTHER peoples' choices, is the actual problem.

I see that as the bigger deal these days.

Seemingly had an awful lot of fun being rich, and not farked anybody over. A goal we could all aspire to.

farkeruk: Doesn't matter. MS didn't care about phones and Apple and Google stepped in while Ballmer was still laughing at the iPhone. By the time they got their shiat together it was too late. They even dropped the ball with development. You can develop in Silverlight (that no Windows developer is trying to learn) or XNA (which seems like it may not work fully on Windows Metro). I know a lot of Windows devs, and not one of them has given it a go (in fact, Xamarin which allows MS devs to develop for iPhone and Android is more popular).

And fighting open source, once it gets traction is really hard. Android just hits so many different types of customers.

Silverlight isn't too bad, really. XNA seems to work fine on my phone, but then again, I haven't been gaming much in these past few weeks.

Android isn't insurmountable. The HTC One and Droid Razr Maxx are anomalies in the market, in many ways, due to their high quality. When you get down into the middle-range and budget handsets, quality control begins to suffer, and Android begins to suck. Microsoft and Nokia have given at least some stabs at the budget segment, and if I were given the choice between the Lumia 710 and your run-of-the-mill Android device, I'd far prefer the 710 in terms of quality.

However, they really, really need to get Verizon and Sprint on board. Windows Phone won't be a real competitor until then.

/prays they don't let the carriers and OEMs fark with Apollo too much.
//make handsets and provide the service. Let Microsoft make the software, you morons.

ColonelSanders33: That's not what the article says at all. He says that The windows OS is by far superior TO ANDROID, but he still prefers iOS.

Why is news or posts about apple, either for or against, always so bad?

Actually.... Jobs would most likely have agreed with this. He hated Android because he thought it was a poor copy of iOS.
