So now will they alter the series season finale? I read a kooky forum rumor they filmed 2 final scenes dependant on renewal. Hope this isnt the case. Just do some monsters of the week next year on the victory lap. As absurd as this show is, I've totally enjoyed the run.

"Though producers were optimistic about a pickup, they reportedly shot two endings of the upcoming fourth season finale just in case a deal didn't come through."

In the meantime the rest of the world watches The Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, Mythbusters, The Walking Dead...and so forth. I f*cking hate most shows on "regular" television. They're derivative and hemmed in by cookie cutter plots and dialog.

..
...
Still amazed by the seasons ending of Breaking Bad.

Don't worry it's not going anywhere. It's performing pretty good in the ratings. So there is a very good chance it's going to get a renewal.

I do like OUAT but I wish it was a bit darker like the show Grimm. The original Grimm fairy tales were pretty dark and morbid. For instance in Cinderella the one of the sisters cuts off the back of her foot. Which is how it's discovered that the shoes didn't fit. The shoe fills up with blood and leaves a trail behind her. How they didn't notice while putting the shoe on that the back had been cut off is beyond me.

Cancel the show and extend Big Bang Theory to 3 hours. There is nothing funnier than watching laughing at nerds

Parks & Rec is the funniest thing NBC shows on Thursday nights. 30 Rock has been hit and miss this season.

yeah, 30 Rocks has been kind of bad this season. Some good episodes, but it really is time to wind the show down.

I like P&R, but I guess I'm a little iffy on where they might go from this season. If she loses, things will probably just stay the same in a dull sense. If she wins, it opens up more plots, though I think it might be hard for them to top a "running for local council" plot.

as much as I like Community, the show's been hit or miss the past 2 seasons. They still have some brilliant episodes, but it increasingly feels it bends over backwards to prove how smart a show it is only to feel like it's probably not as smart as it thinks it is.

Even with Andrew as the Manager, I thought this season of The Office started out better than it has for the past few seasons. I thought they turned Michael into a wholly unlikeable character from about season 5-onward and did not miss him when he left the show; he was easily the worst part of a show that was in a rut as a whole. But the show has lacked direction and has become increasingly obnoxious since the Florida story arch. My bet is it will get 1 final unremarkable season.

The live 30 Rock was pretty entertaining. Two things stood out to me from it: John Hamm needs to do more comedy. He's awesome at it. Also, Fallon still can't get through a skit without screwing up (watch the west coast feed to see him completely stop the scene because he's distracted).

this was my thought as well. I find his talk show unwatchable (even though he has the best music guests. wtf?) because he comes off as a 12 year old who's had too much sugar.

that said, i didn't really like the live show. Previous live episodes were better in that it seemed like there was an actual plot; this one just seemed like randomly tied together skits.

Oh, it was basically all skits. I think it's a fine change of pace once in a while, but would definitely prefer them not to go to this well too often. Fortunately, I think a lot of the skits worked really well. "Young Tracy Jordan" was brilliantly done, Doctor Spaceman is always a welcome sight, and the "NBC Newscast" was pretty good (both the John Hamm, and the Brian Williams versions).

Network TV sucks! TV shows should only be cerebral and feature long stretches of talking followed by dramatic pauses and looks! We'll have none of that shallow bullshiat that network TV offers, we're better than that!

Some of us actually enjoy shutting our brains off for a half hour to an hour to escape from our daily lives. That said, it sucks what Fox did to "Breaking In" and they better renew "Alcatraz" for at least half a season to wrap things up.

2012-04-29 11:29:47 AM
I think this may be the first time ever that I didn't start watching one new show on network TV. None of the new shows interested me at all. Hopefully, next year they will have some better shows, because I'd actually like to find something new that's good.

Your life sounds like it sucks.

Also, Farkers, no love for "Awake"? It's a cable-style show on a big network, and the closest thing on TV to the original "Life on Mars". Yes, sometimes it goes a little too heavy on the police procedural stuff, but it's still great TV.

The one that needs to be canceled is The Simpsons. That show is well past it's sell by date. It stopped being funny 10yrs ago.

Yeah, I watched it a few times but it's sort of like two police procedurals and two family dramas stapled together. I kinda hope they give the solution though before it gets canceled.

yeah, i agree. It was renewed for 2 more seasons though, but with pay cuts for the actors. My bet is that it'll probably end after that run.

I really tried to get into Awake and I love Jason Isaacs, but gotdamn is that show boring.

Happy to see 30 Rock, Raising Hope, and Grimm renewed though. Those are the only shows I watch on network channels.

The problem with such a show is, the solution is obvious, but no network has the balls to do it, because that means the show is done, now.

/What is the obvious solution? All I have to say is read some Ambrose Bierce.

Because I work ten hours a day and want to come home and enjoy some mindless entertainment every now and then? I love Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad, but sometimes I need something stupid like CSI, Criminal Minds, or SVU. How's the air up there on your pedestal by the way?

I don't know, not everything I watch needs to be high art, but even I won't watch CSI, SVU, etc. There's probably better ways to phrase "turning off your brain" in regards to your entertainment-watching habits.

I'm going to toss out the suggestion that you all try Raising Hope.

I really think this show is in the typical Farkers wheelhouse.

I can't bring myself to admit I like a show with a lot of the same staff as Lost...

then I remember that a lot of them worked on Arkham City too.
