No, it wasn't lose/lose. There was a very easy way to do this. Brock mauls Cena, Cena's gone for a few months while Brock destroys everyone, then Cena shows up reinvigorated and ready to redeem himself. Hell, you could have done Cena/Brock II at Mania. That would require bookers who know what they're doing, though.
