No word about the condition of the beer?!?!?!

We just had another pretty wild storm blow through (in St. Louis). As I was running to the basement I noticed golfball-softball sized hailstones.

A branch fell on my truck :(

2012-04-28 08:58:24 PM
All that spilled beer.

:-(

2012-04-28 08:58:42 PM
Sounds like that storm was full of...

...

Homicidal in-tent.

Even though it was a stout tent, it could not withstand the ale force winds.

2012-04-28 09:16:36 PM
This is a tribute to the beerly departed.

2012-04-28 09:17:58 PM
If it was a Budweiser beer garden it was more likely the suck that collapsed it, not the blow

2012-04-28 09:22:23 PM
50 mph? You can't properly anchor a tent for 50 mph winds?

2012-04-28 09:24:00 PM
At least they died doing what they loved.

Proof that god hate budweiser too

Those tents aren't even freaking anchored. It's ridiculous. They just set them on the street, and hope the weight of the steal tubular frame will keep it down.

I was up the street at the International Taphouse. We saw trees bending over, but had no idea anything this severe was going on nearby.

Also, the 1 dead person died of a heart attack due to the commotion when the tent went flying.

The fire chief was on the news and was pretty pissed about it. It was pretty much a " I told you so, and now somebody's dead assholes!"

Ideally, no.

Weird.

Usually people die BEFORE they get to hell.

That storm did suck. I live in Bridgeton where the tornado went through last year and damaged out house. Now we've got hail damage on the cars. Not sure if it was quite baseball sized but damn close. Biggest hail I've ever experienced.

Getting tired of all the damn freakishly strong thunderstorms. Maybe I'm wrong but it just seems like this stuff is happening more often now.

It's almost as if our ancient ancestors had a reason for abandoning flimsy tents in exchange for more sturdy permanent structures.

This is St. Louis. People are in St. Louis for a reason, and it's not their above-average intelligence...

Holy shiat!

Oh, and the heart attack death makes more sense. I was trying to figure out how a tent could kill someone short of impaling them.

Geez. Glad it didn't start after you headed out. You might have been wishing for a helmet...

From Yahoo's take on the same story:

"Eddie Roth, director of the St. Louis Department of Public Safety, said winds of about 50 mph shattered aluminum poles that held up the tent, located south of the stadium." I did not know 50mph winds could shatter aluminum.

"My wife had people in the beer cooler - we had the beer cooler loaded with injuries," Randall said. "It was a triage deal." Blood guts and beer...Johnny Cash would be proud.

"Tents are temporary structures," Oswald said. He's the building commissioner.

2012-04-29 12:33:52 AM
So the tent took one down and passed him around?

I'm afraid another will likely die from injuries soon, leaving 98 others in an injured state.

Word on the street is that they just said it was a heart attack for the news. A snapped cable actually slit his throat.

Sad to see this happen in a beer tent after a Cardinals-Milawukee baseball game in which the Red birds have taken two games thus far.

Bad weekend for brewers in St Louis.

And a bad weekend for Brewers in St Louis this weekend.

You're wrong.

Pretty much every year is the "worst year for "x" I've ever seen" no matter where you're at.

Nothing about "investigators believe alcohol was involved," subby?

Here's an idea
Lets prosecute, convict and execute at least 10 smokers over this
It's more than likely that no one would have been outside if it weren't for them fark'in smokers having to go outside to smoke

Hell why bother with a trial
Just convict them, yank the gold out of their heads
Peel their hide off for lamp shades
After that if their still breathing
an axe, machete or hammer to the back of the head
Makes us very humane in ridding the world of these evil parasites
Plus it leaves the body mostly intact to rendered down into biofuel

Also no taxpayer money wasted on incarcerating these sub-humans

And remember it's for Chirruns

I work at Dave & Busters in STL. We got ping-pong ball sized hail there, and the power flickered for just long enough to kill power to all the games in the midway. Didn't see any damage to the cars, but it was dark when I got out.

What a day...

Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom Eh, its just Missouri folk.... Not like its Seattleites or Bostonians.

I came here for the Sugarland jokes but if St. Louis can serve Ted Drewes custard upside down & provide the 1st workable cure for a-fib(Cox Maze) you'd think they could get a damn beer tent to stand still

Here's an idea: stop sucking oxygen.

Seriously, what the fark? Was this a threadjack, troll, or did you have a seizure just now and have no control over your typing fingers (or hell, your bowels at this rate)?
