"Wait...what?"

They still need to trade for Matt Cassel and Mark San Chez to get the complete set.

They need Cassel to come in and ride the pine the whole time. But you're right, they should skip the John David Booty era.

IAmRight probably still believes his hero just needs the right break from the right team to be recognized as one of the league's elite QB's.

Just move back to the Coliseum already.

I don't think he's going to be an elite QB. But he would be a solid starter...if he'd stop getting injured every damn time he went on the field. And Whisenhunt did f*ck him over for personal reasons.

2012-04-28 02:08:29 PM
LOL It's funny because two QBs went to the same college.

2012-04-28 02:09:22 PM
Can they get Reggie Bush?

He was completing 80% of his passes the preseason where Whisenhunt said he wasn't doing enough. They were short passes, but completions are completions and not turnovers. He's a WCO QB, not a deep bomber and Whisenhunt wanted to get guys to fit his "system" instead of adjusting his system to fit who he had. And he was doing okay with Houston but got injured in his first game.

They should go with Jake Plummer as well.

2:Score at will.

To be fair, when Schaub broke his foot, it was going to be him for the rest of the season...and then he broke his shoulder in the first half.

And then TJ Yates proved just how undervalued he was in the draft, and here we are.

If he were a solid starter in the NFL he'd have a starting job somewhere right now.

Yeah, because that's how it works. Go be dumb somewhere else.

Makes sense, you want a backup QB who is like your starter so if he needs to come in during a game the offense doesn't have to change up the play style.

Plus I still don't think Pryor is ready.

I guess NBA fans need to jack this thread now, since NBA threads with several comments in it are redlit while NHL threads are greenlit immediately to satisfy hockey fans.

Yeah, because QB isn't a coveted position and someone who you claim would be a SOLID starter can't find a job as a starter.

Idiot.

2012-04-28 03:40:35 PM
Aaron Rodgers was in the league from 2005-2008. Couldn't get a job as a starter. Guess that proves he wasn't capable of it. Matt Schaub wasn't a starter for a lot of years, too, guess he's incapable of being one.

You get opportunities to prove yourself when guys leave or get injured - the problem with Leinart is that every time he gets a chance, he gets injured, too. No one's going to give a starting position to someone who never stays on the field.

You've gotta be shiatting me with those examples. Leinart was FREE AGENT. Any team that needed a starter should have had him on the phone immediately when free agency began if he's a SOLID starter. Care to venture a guess as to why no one picked him up??

2012-04-28 03:50:21 PM
On the bright side, they got Arizona to find out he was Captain Checkdown instead of drafting him.

/Oh, wait, they gave $50MM to JaMarcus the next year...
//Crap...

He has an injury history and there's baggage. Just because NFL teams pass on someone doesn't mean they're not good. Tom Brady was a 6th round pick that no one thought was any good. Drew Brees was a free agent and only one team wanted him.

The problem with your examples is that once they had a chance to play they actually DID something. Leinart has proven himself to be a career back-up. He's had chances. There's good reason he's not starting somewhere.

/Sorry you had to take down your Leinart poster.

Oakland, where all the greats go to die.

Yes, by getting injured in his only game in the past couple of years, he's proven he's just terrible. Nothing says you're incapable of playing like going out and getting injured.

Matt Leinart has proven he belongs in the NFL. But he still has a few more kids to go before he can really call himself elite, like Cromartie.

On the field? The jury is out.

That's gonna merit a 10 game suspension for Chandler at least. You do NOT touch the King.

2012-04-28 04:52:07 PM

oMaJoJ: Wait, that's a FLAGRANT?!

It didn't merit a flagrant, but it was a foul and frankly, the foul is more significant than the flagrant. Why the hell would you have your center, who has three fouls already, set a screen there? LeBron wasn't really pressing or anything, and by the time Chandler stepped into him, the guy he was guarding didn't have the ball. What were they going to gain with that?

Yea, that was beyond stupid and doesn't make much sense once you stop and think about it, I think it's the initial shock reaction that's hard to get over. I didn't think the Knicks would shiat the bed in the second though. Thought it would go more like the old Knicks-Heat series where the Heat would blow them away in the third. But what do you do when Carmelo can't do anything and is getting pushed out of his comfort zones?

/ I love that Jeff is still pissed about the call

I kind of want a fight to break out so Van Gundy can hold on to someone's leg again, for old time's sake.

2012-04-28 05:08:42 PM
LeBron is killing the Knicks again, so of course Wade is going to hold on to the ball and not give it to him.

2012-04-28 05:10:41 PM
He'll probably sign for less than USC paid him.

Carmelo is just getting dominated by LeBron, this is hilarious but getting hard to watch; the Knicks look bad. I work with overly optimistic/delusional Knicks fans who give me crap cause I'm a Lakers fan

Please, please, Oakland, keep the Cardinals out of the play-offs while Leinart stares at Coach Whiz from across the field.

Please.

TJ Yates only proved that even Rex Grossman could have won games with that team. Houston was pretty stacked talent wise and played in the only division worse than the AFC west. He went 3-4 with the best running back in the league and a top 5 defense against an easy schedule. Lets not mass fellate the guy just yet.

It would be a good theory if most secondary guys couldn't run from LA to San Diego and back. Stuff like that works in high school and high division college, mostly because the conditioning is not as good, but once you get to the NFL, you have marathon runners safeties and it's insane.

After his classy words while at SC when the longhorns handed him his ass, I found it amusing he ended up with the Texans.

THIS is even better.

So he's officially giving up on starting now?

Or maybe he's banking on the Raiders figuring out they took part in the most lopsided trade since the Vikings & Cowboys did a little trade in the late 80s.

twiztedjustin: So he's officially giving up on starting now?

Didn't he kinda throw in that towel when he went to Houston?

/You know who else came town to back up a guy Oakland traded for?
//I'll save you the GIS; it was Plunkett
///Not that anything remotely close will happen; they're going to win 6 to 8 games this year
