I'm still holding out a tiny bit of hope that a Dodo bird will be found alive in some remote part of the world.

I'm still holding out a tiny bit of hope that people will stop linking to that rag The Day, especially after my allotment of three premium articles has been used up.

Somebody doesn't have a clue about selecting the right kind of arrowhead for hunting fowl.

Could be the goose is a Steve Martin fan.?

2012-04-28 12:30:10 PM
Well give the shooter some credit. He was probably aiming for the goose's knee. Ever see a goose's knee? That's a pretty small target to hit there.

And it will later be served broiled in a fine wine and served to Dick Cheney, I'm sure.

There aren't nearly enough of these in the wild. I would like to encourage each of you to go out and get a bow and try to make as many of these as you can.

Don't be discouraged if you accidentally kill the bird though. Just retrieve your arrow and try again.

There are so many of these shiate machines around here, nobody will miss a few thousands.

hillary: sandbar67: I'd like to put an arrow thru the head of the person that did this.

In all fairness, given the fact that it was an amazing shot, this was probably a seasoned hunter and the bird was meant for eating. The fact that he nailed the bird with an arrow, in the head no less, shows that he was either a very experienced bow hunter or he got extremely lucky. Either way, nothing he could do after the bird took one in the head and got away.

shiat happens. Bird is lucky to even be alive still.

That's not an arrow that any hunter would use.

An experienced hunter would know not to use a shiat arrow like that on any type of fowl. Whoever did this was a moran.

Lyme's Disease or arrow to the head, Lyme's disease or arrow to the head? Also:

hillary: Bird is lucky to even be alive still.

Got one (in the body) once, its buddies flew, it fumbled, I shot again and missed, and it took off and flew away. With a rifle. Are geese immortal? On second thought I hate cleaning geese so who cares.

Unless they're Bushmen or Eskimos, that's not why people hunt. Anybody who wants to slap his tiny little peepee on the table and deny it, knock yourself out.

I use the GG and Magnus bullheads for Canada Geese. Works so much better than a regular broadhead. Headshots are always decapitations. body shots get zero penetration.
