robsul82: Forgot that Mike Mularkey went to Jacksonville. Of course that moron would take a punter, lol.

Now that I've looked up more of his stats...he was projected to be a 3rd or 4th rounder. As a punter. 24 50+ yard punts, 21 punts pinned inside the 20, 21 forced fair catches despite booming the hell out of 'em...I mean, the Jags are gonna use the hell out of a punter.

He was actually rated the 97th best player in the draft. Not as high as he went, but damn, that seems really high for a punter.

Picking a punter in the third still isn't as crazy as picking a kicker in the first.

/SeaBass has been solid
//still not worth a first rounder though

Might the dolphin take one guy in this draft that isn't a "project"?

For a really bad team like Jacksonville, a great punter can be the difference between losing by 1-2 TDs or losing by 4. If you put a team around them they can do insane shiat (like go 13-3 while their FG kicker breaks records). While he might not win games, only losing by 1-2 TDs can be a lot better on a teams fanbase if they are going to lose anyways.

OK Chefs, I wasn't a big fan of the Poe pick, but two lineman to fill out the important rounds is good. Cassell is never going to set the world on fire but if Charles and 00-Hillis can give us a nice 1-2 punch and Poe is even a marginal upgrade over Gregg, we might manage to win a game or two.

Epiphany: muck4doo: Epiphany: muck4doo: Epiphany, a question for you, if you were starting an expansion franchise now in the NFL, and were given the choice between Crabtree and Dez Bryant, who do you take?

Crabtree. I think that after his rookie contract is up he will go to a team that feels like passing and have a monster season. Also, for all the shiat talked on him about being a diva, he keeps his mouth shut, never wants to talk to the media and when he does he always just smiles and answers questions politely, and rarely says anything controversial. I'd take that over the off the field issues and potential farkup at all times in Bryant.

Just wish he would participate in the preseason for once, but the guy legitametly has been injured mostly.

That's what I like about you. Ya stick to your guns. Crabtree will be breaking out anytime now, and that Bryant is just a diva.

Hell yeah! Thank god it got a lot easier to do with them going to the NFC Championship Game this year. Was kind of in a giant hole for, I dunno, 8 years or so just constantly digging.

YouWinAgainGravity: Clearly Jacksonville has no other positions of need that they can draft a punter in round 3. Either that or this guy is the greatest punter in the history of ever.

[3.bp.blogspot.com image 340x490]

Only punter ever drafted in the first round, considered a steal, revolutionized the game of football when it comes to using punters as field position weapons, kicked the ball so farking high that it bounced off the roof of the NO stadium and the referees checked the ball for helium.

The Pro Football HOF really needs to get their shiat together and put him in. Too bad Dr. Z had a massive stroke and can't lobby for him anymore. Also too bad he can't write for SI anymore.

My prediction for the next 2 years. Crabtree is on the bench. Dez is voted to the non-existant pro-bowl. I'm picking on you because you kept saying how horrible Dez is, and what a wonderful player Crabtree is. You're gonna be eating that.

IAmRight: Holy sh*t this is the Seahawks second-rounder.

Awesome.

Thanks, now I have to watch ninja turtle movies and get wasted. This better be as fun as it sounds right now.

Also, judging by the 49ers picks, I'd say that Al Davis has come back as a ghost and took over the body of Trent Baalke, and I'm ok with that.

Someone still owes me three months of total fark from that thread. I have his name in my profile and him highlighted in red but have never seen him since that season.

A better prediction will be in the next 2 years, Crabtree will be a Cowboy and Dez Bryant will be trying to revive his career in buffalo or someplace after he gets suspended/cut for something dumb.

Vick is 5'10 for sure, they list him at 6'0.

Brees is also listed at 6'0 and 6'1...so he magically grew two inches from when he entered the NFL at 5'11. I remember during that draft that was the knock on him out of Purdue.

Wilson will be fine.

I'm shocked that NE isn't getting more shiat for their draft so far. Their first pick was a guy who nobody had considered at all until the Combine and that's never a good sign. Hightower is going to be awesome, though. And the safety they got in the 2nd round wasn't supposed to go until well into the 3rd. Hightower to me makes their draft OK, but they're going to regret those other two picks in a few years.
