I bought a Glock 17 Gen4 9mm recently for the fun of it. I intend to get a concealed carry permit just so I have that option but I probably won't carry all the time like some people I know, because it turns out that holding a gun makes you more likely to think that others are as well.

Of course, there's no way this phenomenon could ever lead to fatal misunderstandings. Right, George Zimmerman? Come on, folks - this guy knows what I'm talking about!

Didn't Woolrich go out of business a decade ago? They still got that building in lower Manhattan named after them, but isn't that all that's left of that old nickel-and-dime store?

I am also a gun owner who is not a paranoid nut, however that study seems flawed from the outset.

Don't think about a pink elephant for the next 10 seconds!

If you are holding a gun when the pictures are flashed, you are more likely to see a gun because you are thinking about guns. They probably had a higher instance of people mistaking soda cans for foam balls, too.

Wooworth's.

I did the same thing.

Still miss the Frito pies from Woolworth's in Santa Fe.

Reminds me of another study...

Oh yeah, Kellerman et al.

/Kleck and Lott have flaws in their studies too

freaking shame too. woolworths clothing was fantastic. i still own and wear a ton of woolworths gear that my grandfather originally bought. i wear it hunting, stomping around the woods and yet every piece of it is still in perfect condition. no fraying, no stitching coming out, buttons are all intact. its better than all the modern gear my friends own.

Glocks are terrible conceal and carry weapons.....too easily misfired as there is only a trigger safety*

*this is only my opinion

I went and looked at the Woolrich site and there are no female versions for those carry clothes. Do, yeah, those clothes will not flatter your wife's figure.

I know when I carry I make it a point to be more cognizant of what is around me. Paranoia? Perhaps. But I don't think it so much that I'm itching to blow someone away as it is that i know I'm carrying a lot more money on me than usual, 'cause guns ain't cheap. I also know that my firearm isn't invisible, and other people may notice that I'm carrying, which could make me more of a threat/target to them. That is just me personally though. I know there are plenty of Zimmerman's in the world.

And, as the above poster also mentioned, there is some heavy priming going on here. But then, that's kinda the point: that carrying the gun primes you to look at things differently.

I dunno why you'd need specific clothes for concealed carry. I do fine with jeans bought from wherever and polo shirts or t-shirts also from wherever.

That's silly and any trigger safety issues are mitigated entirely with proper training and use. Glocks are terrible weapons for reasons entirely separate from their trigger safety.

It's news that Woolrich has been making these for four years?

A few months ago - the wife and I stopped at their factory store in Woolrich, PA (it's one of those "don't blink or you'll miss it" kind of towns). We were pretty shocked - not only at their prices, but for the fact that nothing they carry is made in the USA any more - it was all made in China, Pakistan, Indonesia, etc.

It used to be great stuff - now, it's just like the other crap you can buy at Walmart.
