As good a place as any to celebrate when the Browns trade their remaining picks to move up and grab Brock Osweiler.

Yup. Hill's gonna make quite a few teams upset that they passed on him in the first round for lesser receivers.

St. Louis takes Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State.

"Quick is a good name for a wide receiver."

"Big AND quick!"

Thanks, Gruden and Berman.

fark you Kiper, you piece of shiat. NFL prohibits tipping picks but you just had to drop that it was an Alabama player, giving it away. Choke on your hairspray you schmuck.

machoprogrammer: True, but if they want him to start right away, that would be the time to draft him. A 27-32 year old rookie would do better than a 22 year old rookie (assuming same level of talent and team, of course).

Well he better learn quickly, because obviously his window is much shorter.

This guy is older than Aaron Rodgers.

Pittsburgh looks like they might have a tough season, but we can always depend on the Browns to keep things in perspective. Thanks, Cleveland.

Harry_Seldon: Sparkly for Barkley

No, it's "Malarkey for Barkley," man.

Jubeebee: T.rex: I love the pick for Cleveland. Thus far, they got a stud RB and stud QB.... With plenty of more picks to go.

He's not that far from Luck... just older.

Earlier in the thread someone said a franchise left tackle won't make a big impact on the team, and now someone is comparing Wheeden to Luck in a positive way.

[wtfamireading.jpg]

Well, the thing is, any tackle taken would have to be a right tackle, 'cuz they already got a franchise left tackle in Joe Thomas.

puffy999: It was hard to defend the Richardson trade (all those picks), but I understood.

This one? Nope. It makes no sense whatsoever. The Browns would have been better off waiting for Russell Wilson.

To me, it's much worse than that. It shows that we are again in phase 2 of the three-phase cycle of Browns futility: "This is the QB that'll take us to the promised land." Phase 1 is "This is the coach/GM/President that we need to get our team great again." Phase 3, of course, is: "All of these guys suck! Tear it down and start over!"

I've said all along that if Holmgren drafts a QB in the first round this year, he'll be watching the draft next year as whoever takes his place takes Matt Barkley.

And the cycle begins anew.

It must be terrible living with such general enmity.

Lol... 'Steeltown'? i think the more schmucky thing would be to identify your city with an industry that has been defunct since the 1960's....

Cleveland, on the other hand, is booming in the pharma and enterpreneural sectors.
