Mitt is not a small government backer. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a small government backer, but he is *not* a porn star!

"I wanna make sure that every new computer sold in this country after I'm president has installed on it a filter to block all pornography and that parents can click that filter to make sure their kids don't see that kinda stuff coming in on their computer."

Old and busted: magic underwear
New hotness: magic computer technology

Well, it is the most important issue facing our country today, right?

Nice try subby but what he's obviously talking about is something similar to the V-chip found in televisions.

Go ahead and herp the derp though, you libtards are great at it.

It's actually a Jobs Program. Making and installing all these widgets will take tens of thousands of employees.

I wonder if he still feels this way, since it is from 4 years ago. I don't think it is the government's job to get involved here, especially when the free market has done a good job at providing parents the ability to censor computers for their children.

There was a great article I saw somewhere a little while back where point was made that we shouldn't assume Romney will return to the middle if he is elected President: his political views are so malleable, so contingent, and so subject to change that he would probably happily govern from the extreme right if he thinks it will be to his political gain.

Well then, explain please how a mandatory device acting as a government intrusion into the personal lives of Americans by interfering with their own life choices is small government? Or how it is small government acting to dictate to private business how a free market should work?

The only way to adequately block adult material would be to make it mandatory for those sites to use the .xxx domain. You can't knock Romney for saying that he wants to make sure that parents have the means to keep their kids from viewing porn online, even if he's mistaken on how to do it.

Simple eh? We just have to get THE WHOLE WORLD TO DO IT......DERP DERP DERP.

On a relate note, 80% of the population will say "heck yeah Mitt" then vote against him once the curtain is pulled closed at the polls.

Because he wants the government to act as a parent and tell people how to raise their kids.

In effect, he is what he claims liberals want. Of course he'll frame it differently but he's saying government should directly control your private life.

If that's the case, then don't we want to provide them with health care, ensure they have the food they need, the education to better themselves and the opportunities to become healthy and productive adults that can earn a healthy wage?

Adequately? okay so the original sites are .xxx... Screen caps and right-click save-as aside, how does your guy's v-chip keep that genie in the bottle?
And yes... Yes I can. It is a lovely idea, how can anyone be for all-porn-all-the-time-on-the-interwebs for kids?
But it is so far from doable, and anyone that has spent more than 5 minutes on the internet knows that.
How about a little parental responsibility? And leave the Government out of it altogether?

Yeah, I generally laugh at the sheer idiocy you crap into these threads, but yeah. You're 100% right. Things like Net Nanny and Bess have been around since the mid 90's. It isn't the governments job to watch what your kids see when they surf.

So what's your plan for controlling a kids TV and internet use? Should you lock up all electronics when you're not home? Should you not allow them to have a computer or TV in their room? It's ridiculous to say that even the best parents can monitor what their kids are viewing on a TV or computer 100% of the time.

If you are worried having your children exposed to such then I suggest withholding said technology from them. That way you are 100% sure they won't see what you do not want them to see.

You are very technologically challenged aren't you? Things like Net Nanny have been around since the 90's. Any idiot can install them. Install software, limit your kids usage and STFU.

I can't wait until those of us 35 and younger take the reins. This type of shiat won't fly with us. A politician who spouts this stuff will be laughed at because we will already have our nets set up to catch this stuff, and we'll know to monitor our kids internet use.

Oh grow up. Some kids will listen to their parents, some won't. Some will go to their friends' house and watch. Some will go to the library. My children are all teenagers and have a pretty damn good idea about sex and what not. Should they be ashamed of their bodies, like I was taught to be? F*ck no. Should they be attention whores with their bodies? F*ck no.

But then, I think Americans are stuck in Victorian England. Sex isn't some horrible thing to hide.
