Regarding the Alzheimer's reference, in the past 40 odd years the repubs have given us a paranoid schizophrenic president (Nixon), a president actively suffering from senile dementia (Reagan--in retrospect, a very scary situation), and a clinically retarded president (guess who?). Of the remaining repub presidents, once was essentially a dull normal non-entity and the other seemed to suffer from some sort of aphasia. One has to wonder what sort of emotional deficits Mr. Romney will bring to the table. His cavalier attitude towards the less fortunate, including dogs, would suggest some sort of narcissistic personality disorder, but it may be worse than that and given the repub bait-and-switch tactics of recent years, possibly far worse.
