I love football, but draft hype lately is pretty ridiculous. NHL playoffs, NBA playoffs, baseball...this is what I want in April. I'll check who the Cowboys end up with sometime later this weekend but the rest of it? You can keep it.

dude, these kids are achieving a moment they've been dreaming of for years. Give them a couple moments to savor it.

Just a matter of time before a "holier than thou" post. I don't give a damn about their moment and why should I? You've just become a millionaire young man now move along so I can catch the whole first round before knocking off for the night.

ahh, sorry. Here I was thinking you might have a shred of empathy. My mistake.

Klivian: tuffsnake: Did they do the "WE WANT FOOTBALL!" chant this year when the commissioner was announced like last year?

No, they just boo'ed the crap out of him, like he deserves.

What did he do this year to deserve a booing?

Epiphany: Tom Brady the paperboy: Pet Peeve = Referring to your favorite team with the term "WE".

Without fans there would be no team. Also serious fans are fans for life, while players can come and go. So the "we" doesn't bother me, and I find myself saying it sometimes as well.

Ya, I don't do it but I understand the logic of people who do

but mostly I don't want to read about this old farking argument even one more farking time

there are draft picks to mock, damn it

They make the jerseys really quickly.

Those jerseys will cost $300. The "replica" ones will be $100. Thank god nike came in to save us from the tyranny of $40 reebok jerseys.

CavalierEternal: redmid17: Why on god's green earth did the Browns a) move up to the 3rd spot and b) draft a RB that high in the first round?

a) Bucs or Jets were going to if we didn't

b) Next Adrian Peterson

So he'll have a great season only to fumble the ball on every important possession?

I wouldn't consider three extra mid-to-late round picks "fleecing". Look at what the Browns did to the Falcons in the Julio Jones trade last year for the definition of "fleecing".

Anytime you get 3 picks for nothing its a fleecing

Crap, I was hoping the Vikings would bite on a cornerback. That would have allowed Kalil to drop to the Bills. Looks like Floyd for Buffalo.

Ok, so Cleveland gives up...4 picks in this year's draft to draft Richardson...which Minnesota at #3 did NOT want. Cleveland was at pick #4.

Am I the only one who thinks that was a dumbass move?

Jubeebee: germ78: Jubeebee: Angelo was good at finding gems in rounds 3-5, and sucked ass at rounds 1 and 2.

Too bad the quality of players drafted drops significantly after round two. Would link to an article on fox sports about it, but I can't seem to find it.

Oh, I'm well aware that the gems Angelo did find were not exactly superstars. But the whole reason Bears fans were OK with the Cutler trade was because we knew that Angelo would throw away the first round picks anyway. But he could turn picks in rounds 3-5 into halfway decent starters (Knox, D.Manning, Melton, etc).

Knox was a great pickup - the kind of player that would bend over backwards to help the organization out.

The NFL Draft is the most overhyped event in pro sports.

I like football, but come'on. There are two playoff Game Sevens on tonight. Go watch actual sports, not a bunch of pudgy guys in suits pick out other guys who won't play for another five months.

Our Kurt, who art now retired,
hallowed be thy name;
thy quarterback come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily touchdowns;
and forgive us our penalties
as we forgive those who commit them against us;
and lead us not into agony,
but deliver us from defeat.
For Thine is the quarterback, and the power, and the glory,
of the Kurt, and of the Pigskin, and of the Holy Fitz,
now and ever and unto the ages of ages.

Unless Ozzie trades up in the first round (doesn't seem likely this year), the Ravens won't pick until somewhere around midnight. I'll still watch because it's fun to laugh at the inevitable team(s) who screw things up.

Hoping we go O-line with the first pick, but a lot of mocks have us taking a pass rusher or linebacker. I'm okay with that, too.
