It's not like Boston has anything worth destroying. What were they going to do, fly a plane into a Dunkin Donuts?

Old North Church, State House....ya know, many of this countries most significant historical sites.

But yeah...

keylock71: Sliding Carp: keylock71: These morons also demonstrate a remarkable lack of knowledge of the team they claim to support:

I suspect if the fans had a vote, O'Ree would never have played. Hell, when I lived there, Boston baseball fans even found excuses to hate Jim Rice.

Racist shiat bags exist in every fan base...

Interesting interview with Willie. He's always been a class act. Link

Where did the majority of hate and ignorance come from?

"Players and fans, especially when I came to the States. There were only six teams when I was playing. I noticed the racial slurs and remarks in Detroit and especially Chicago. But it really didn't bother me. I just wanted to play hockey, and if they couldn't accept me for the individual that I am... because I had the skills to play in the league. I fought a lot when I first started, not because I wanted to but because I had to. Guys wanted to see what I was made of. I'd drop the gloves. I said, "If I'm gonna leave the league, it'll be because I don't have the talent." It got a little easier as time went on, but I stayed focused on playing the best hockey I could. Soon I gained the respect of not only the players on the opposition but the fans in the stands. I've had racial slurs directed at me at airports and restaurants, so it goes in one ear and out the other."

Thank you for the article.

No it's not at all like New York. Boston doesn't smell like piss and vomit all the time, and planes don't crash into our buildings all that much.

Piss and vomit are signature trademarks of a great night out. And also lots of homeless people who serve to enrich the cultural experience of walking through Penn Station.

A. Trust the three anonymous people on the internet here who say Boston is not racist rather than the hundreds on the internet elsewhere proving that it is.

B. It's not everybody in Boston who is racist., It is just certain close knit subset groupings in Boston that feed off each other's racism. Bruins fans may be one such group.

I don't think Boston is racist. Quite the contrary, in fact.

Racist assholes tend to be friends with other racist assholes. It happens in real life, e-mail chains, Facebook, Twitter, you name it.

It seems to me that when a large group of people starts spouting off racist bullshiat in public, especially on the Internet with all it's anonymity, it further emboldens other racist dickheads to post as well, and unfortunately, it snowballs.

If the posters want to be outed as racist pieces of s*hit, so be it. I think it's unfair to paint an entire city with the racism brush, though.

I'd agree. We don't have hate groups up here and we don't have hate crimes. We have had concentrated areas of racism in the blue collar outskirts of Boston - mostly utilized as a red herring to get away with crime.

Yeah, because we all know unless a city is predominantly black like Detroit or Baltimore, it's obviously an evil race problem. We here in New England just cant wait for Boston to embrace the cultural diverse utopia those 2 urban jewels have acheived.

Twatter is a giant retard magnet, so I'm not sure how this is surprising.

In other news, grats to the Caps. B's pretty much mailed it in for all 7 games, and completely deserved to lose. Bergeron gets a pass in my book for playing very obviously injured, but no one on this team should be shocked at the outcome after such a half assed group effort.

I wouldn't say that...Seidenberg played a tremendous series, enough so he should be elevated from "solid, underrated d-man" to "should be playing against the opposing team's top line regardless if Chara is next to him or not".

I do think Marchand has been neutered...I'm not sure if the suspension and a possible stern word from Shanaban messed with his head, but he was marginal player for most of the series and for stretches of the latter half of the regular season. His offensive game picks up when he's being an asshole. Same with Lucic...but if they're just being "scoring forwards" with minimal physicality and engagement in the "mindfark" games of assholery, they're not that effective.

I thought the 4th liners played well when they got the chance, and I thought maybe Kelly or Campbell might get some chances with Bergeron and Marchand since Peverley was getting killed on faceoffs. Definitely didn't see enough out of Looch and Krejci, I honestly hope they were battling injuries or something because if that was their effort at 100% they should be embarrassed.
