Meanwhile, Iran is said to be very interested in learning more about this "pixel-free" approach to bogus hardware. Forget Photoshop, it's time for Wood Shop!

Why would you paint jungle camo on a missile, North Korea? DO YOU EVER THINK?

So when the hell does the revolution happen in that pathetic rat hole of a country already?

If they can't even build fake missiles properly, what are the odds they can build real ones?

It's hard to revolt when you're eating roots and grass, just barely alive.

They're still trying to get that whole "electricity" concept down. I'm not too stressed they're going to be lobbing ICBMs at Los Angeles anytime soon.

My morbid curiosity always wonders what would happen if the shiat hit the fan with N.Korea and just how much of their army would pour over the border. It's a scenario I really would never want to see, but the curiosity of how a war would go in present day makes me wonder.

Well... Maybe. Since the fall of the USSR a number of their former missile technicians and commanders have not expressed a high confidence in the readiness of the systems they oversaw.

It isn't like the middle east where they have the internets, facebook, twitter and the like. The place is an information black hole with a culture of fear and paranoia with roots so deep I doubt we'll ever see a revolution there. If they ever step over the line and escalate to a full blown war, things will change, but not before an awful lot of bloodshed.

Those poor people are seriously farked.

I remember being in the 8th grade, seeing the photos from the Cuban Missile Crisis and asking the teacher "What?! That's what almost led to nuclear war?! How do we know they weren't inflatable pool toys put there to scare us?!"

Of course, I know they weren't, but I always kinda wondered why not. If anyone ever actually launched one of those things all hell would break loose, so you've got to figure they were more for intimidation. In that case, why not make the things out of plywood and just leave them around for spy planes to snap photos of.

/I know, I'm a dumbass.
//So are the Koreans if they thought anyone would fall for this

The terrifying thing to consider is whether the NK leadership knows these are fakes. If the military brass is just throwing something out there to save their own skin, but glorious leader thinks that he haz long range strike capability...

The most frightening part wouldn't be the army but rather the artillery. They could use conventional artillery to kill hundreds of thousands in Seoul before we could disable it.

Know what? I'm 34 and still get together on a fairly regular basis to play regular, tabletop D&D (it's tougher now that everyone is married and has kids, but we do still play). Even those of use dorks who played regular D&D looked down on the LARPers.

All of them would pour over, mostly to get something to eat, but they'd all come running.

UtileDysfunktion: PRK needs to get squished.

yep.

question is, why dont the south koreans seem to think so?

i guess everyone's just waiting for it to implode on its own, and then do so without massive bloodshed on either side, and not risk losing seoul. and if you were the s. korean govt, would you want to deal with the cost of reunifying the place? would make the german reunification look like a cake walk in comparison.

the north koreans *do* have nukes, and they can hit seoul with it. why risk it?

they bought theyre tickets. they knew what they were getting into. i say, let em crash.

My father fought in the Korean war. He didn't talk about any of it till the last few years he was alive and what he did talk about put visions of "what the fark is lurking in that dark closet" in my head. It would be a bloody farking thing if it ever did happen.

I like that the numbers on the side of the missile arent in korean. Wonder who they're for?

Also, it makes me lol that they felt the missile needed like a 10 digit identifier... like they have that many of them.

I think large parts of their army would pour over the border and exchange their guns for food.

And I've read the economic impact of trying to actually reunite the two Koreas at this point, with the vast gap between them in terms of technology, society, education, culture, all of it, would be many, many times worse than the German reunification. Even if the DPRK was made free today... I think it would take many decades before any semblance of normalcy would be reached, nevermind the tremendous drag on the South, which I'm sure most South Koreans would not be very pleased about.

It really is fascinating to watch and think about... Like the world's largest unethical psychological experiment.

This is North Korea, they think the rest of the world is as brainwashed as their starving people. We were supposed to be afraid that these are his secret weapons that could kill the whole United States......so you know give more money so he can be a fat rich bi@tch, starve his people, and pretend that he doesn't have a small penis.
