Geeks may not see them selves as like on TBBT but the rest of the world does.

Case in point...

The show's ratings.

Ishkur: The show's creators and writers took note of this and gradually shifted the show's focus from geek and sciencey stuff to relationship bullshiat.

Yeah because Leonard falling in love with Penny in THE PILOT EPISODE wasn't an indication that like every other sitcom, it was going to focus to some extent on relationship bullshiat.

Pilot episode:

1. Leonard and Sheldon wimp out on masturbating for money
2. Meet new neighbour, Leonard falls in love
3. Awkward attempts at socialisation with said female
4. Two more awkward geeks show up who also attempt to socialise with hot female
5. Leonard is manipulated by his penis to retrieve hot neighbour's TV from scary ex
6. Get bullied like a geek
7. Go for geeky karaoke dinner

Yeaaaah, look at all the science in that pilot. I can see you'd totally be bummed when it changed from that into relationship drama.

Idiot.

Infobahn: It seems to me all of the TBBT hate comes from people who think it happens to hit too close to home.

I can't speak for anyone else but what bothers me is the laugh-track. And the set. And the hackish acting. And that blonde chick with the fat arms. And the theme song. And the entire wardrobe department. And that guy who does the voiceovers for the promos. And the font used in the logo.

At first I thought it tried too hard. I'm starting to enjoy it more now, but it still insists upon itself.

It's no Community, but I do still enjoy it. It's a bit of a nerd minstrel show, but Sheldon torturing his buddies is amusing.

It does get props for having the most realistic depiction of a science lab that I've seen on TV, but I don't understand the continual presence of Star Trek TOS on that show. For Christ's sake that show went off the air 43 years ago, but HA HA NERDS LIKE STAR TREK AMIRITE

/some great racks on TBBT though

/cry

I resemble that remark. Start Trek TOS is my favorite Star Trek. Meanie.

I would counter, but debating the merits of the various Star Trek series would defeat my own argument.

That's too bad... I wanted the excuse to post:

"There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened."
